About Me

Can YOU sum yourself up in a few choice words? I mean, I can't, but I can try. Here's a clever attempt:
You Are Kermit
Hi, ho! Lovable and friendly, you get along well with everyone you know.
You're a big thinker, and sometimes you over think life's problems.
Don't worry - everyone know's it's not easy being green.
Just remember, time's fun when you're having flies! The Muppet Personality TestI edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Film; spending too much money on food, wine, and beer; reading; playing in parks and hiking; going on adventures; theatre; spending time with people I love; daydreaming about travel...

I'd like to meet:

a better me.

Music:

The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Belle and Sebastian, Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, The Postal Service, Geto Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, OutKast, and Tom Waits with a smattering of everything else. I even enjoy musicals now and then, and love classical music (especially on piano).

Movies:

Out of my highest rated films on Netflix, these are just a few of my favorites: Adaptation, All About Eve, Back to the Future, Boys Don't Cry, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Death to Smoochy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, Gandhi, The Graduate, It's a Wonderful Life, Little Miss Sunshine, Man With a Movie Camera, Metropolis, Office Space, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Pretty Woman, Psycho, Quick Change, The Shawshank Redemption, Singin' in the Rain, Star Wars (original trilogy), Sunset Boulevard, Taxi Driver, Un Chien Andalou, and Waiting for Guffman.New Favorite: There Will Be Blood. All Time Favorite: It's a Wonderful Life. Movies that Changed my Perspective on Film? L'Age D'or, Un Chien Andalou, and Man With a Movie Camera. Movies that Changed My Perspective on Life? Fight Club and Harold and Maude. Guilty Pleasure? Pretty Woman (I am so ashamed).

Television:

TV? I miss TV. I miss Discovery channel, Food network, and TLC most of all.

Books:

Gone With the Wind and Scarlett (I hate to admit it), all of those great political/distopia novels a la Vonnegut and Orwell, and classic literature in general. Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, 1984, Atlas Shrugged, Clockwork Orange, Brave New World, and Slaughterhouse 5 are some of my favorites. I confess that I love Harry Potter, The Giver... children's books in general. There is a special genius to writing books for children that are of a certain quality- intelligent, thought-provoking, still appealing to adults, yet age appropriate.

Heroes:

My mom, and my Grandma and Grandpa S. In a global sense, my heroes are all of the great advocates of civil disobedience and social welfare of the past millennium. And Jim Henson. Harold and Maude. Salvador Dali. Those who are unafraid of nonconformity. My super heroes are Dan and Emma.

Obviously, the creator of this site doesn't have the balls to put up a photo.I've never seen anything quite this sexist. And yet, in some weird way I can kind of see the truth of it. I can see the tru...

manifesto? MANIFESTO!

I want desperately to create a new movement in film. As much as I can't stand the way the class is taught, I love my World Cinema class for opening my eyes to a whole world outside of prosaic Hollywoo...

YOU are interesting enough as you.

Thank you John Short. He's very right that each of us is enough. The camera spots a faker in an instant and will scream and yell and protest when it sees one. You are enough. You, just you, without an...
