He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy...

About Me

I live in Bournemouth, where i study business at uni. When i'm not at uni i'm back home in Worthing (near Brighton).
I play rugby and "try" to keep fit, but this hampered by my fondness for going out.

Although..... i could argue that getting drunk is good for me. Those familiar with the Buffalo Theory will know that a herd of Buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo.
Well.... likewise the brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells.

The slowest buffalo are the sick and weak ones so they of first, making it possible for the herd to move at a faster pace.
Like the buffalo the weak, slow brain cells are the ones that are killed of first.... .... by drinking beer.

So drink more, it will make you smarter.

My Interests

Rugby, hanging out with mates, girls, shiny things.... ... probably in that order.
Maybe...
Money... not that it's particularly interesting, but I like having it. More would be nice!
It's not that I think money would make me happier than I am now, but I wouldn't mind the chance to find out!

... Actually listing "girls" as an interest goes without saying, unless I was gay.
Which I'm not.
But then I suppose so does "mates".
And by "mates" i mean friends; not members of the fairer sex I copulate with. I'm NOT interested in having kids in the near future!!
Things like going the cinema, going out, whether this be down in Bournemouth or at home in Worthing.

This lists pretty rubbish...

New list...
Rugby, shiny things.... ummm....
I see there are boxes below to list my favourite Music, Movies, TV and Books.
They're interests of mine too! Hmmm.... clever.
Too clever.......

So something else not covered by the all-knowing all-seeing all-asking prophet that is the MySpace Profile Edit.
Ok... My uni course; Business Info Systems Management. That interests me.
As does random-trivia, travelling, computer games, other culture, politics.....
I went travelling in my gap year with two mates to New Zealand and Fiji.
That was cool. Apart from that...

I give up on this section!
I'm sure I've got more "Interests" than that... Maybe I'm not a very interesting person.

If you read all of this, you're either a very nice or a very crazy person.

Highlights from the season so far...

I'd like to meet:

People I'd like to meet (in no particular order):
Zach Braff

- plays J.D. in "Scrubs", wrote, directed and starred in "Garden State," and stars in "The Last Kiss" which comes out soon.

Will Self

- author of "Great Apes," I found him very entertaining on "Have I got News For You."

Tim Berners-Lee

- invented the world wide web, and as such founded the W3 Consortium.

Eddie Izzard

- very funny man (or "executive transvestite") who has appeared in many films. He is also very pro-EU, stating: "Britain should be in the driving seat of Europe. In the driver's seat, or in the passenger seat. That's good, cuz then you can take a sleep."

Edwin Hubble

- discovered the universe and started the idea that there was a "Big Bang," realising the universe was expanding.

Ryan Adams

- country / blues artist, "Heartbreaker," "Love Is Hell," "Gold," and in fact pretty much everything else he's done are great.

Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis

- founders of "Skype," a VOIP service that works on the idea the Berners-Lee introduced, that it should be free. Phone calls won't be tariff-based simply because distance isn't significant when using the net.

Mark Z. Danielewski

- author of "House of Leaves," the best book I've ever read, about a person reading the notes of a recently deceased man, on a film called The Navidson Record, which never existed. The text format varies to reflect the story and includes lists, footnotes, Latin and Greek mythology, amongst other things.

Myself from the future

- so I could give myself a heads-up about anything I should know about, etc...

Steven Tyler

- frontman of Aerosmith, probably the greatest rock 'n' roll band of all time.

Bill Gates

- co-founder of Microsoft, he led the evolution of the PC by creating the GUI: "Windows". Founded the Gates Foundation, a large charity organisation that is almost single-handedly reducing the cost of a malaria vaccine from $2.40 to 25cents, through synethetic engineering possible because of the charity's donations.

Douglas Adams

- author of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." I know where my towel is.

Music:

I like rock, hip-hop, electronica...
There's a special place in my heart for blues, like Muddy Waters, but particularly blues-rock.
Traditionally this is stuff like the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton....
Well "Slow-hand" was in many bands, but he was originally in The Yardbirds along with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. I like Led Zeppelin a lot, but then, who doesn't?!
The stuff I listen to mostly is the Black Keys, The White Stripes, and now subsequently The Raconteurs.
I already liked Brendan Benson (Cold Hands, Warm Heart being a favourite) but had not heard of The Greenhornes before.
I've always had an interest in folk music, but now more so thanks to a mate at uni. So if you like Jack Johnson and Pete Murray you have an idea. If you like Josh Ritter, Alexi Murdoch, K. D. Lang, Alanis Morissette, Tracy Chapman.....
I know this strictly isn't folk. I like a lot of stuff.

Another band that holds a special place in my heart is Del Amitri.
You may not have heard of them, but I guarantee you have heard them.

Then of course there's the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, DOA 1979, Dresden Dolls, The Strokes, The Kooks, The Kinks, The Kings of Leon....
Be Your Own Pet, LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax, Mylo...
Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Jay-Z, MC Lars, Missy Elliot, Dre, Jurassic 5...
Jamie T, The Mars Volta, Muchachito, Gorrilaz (and Blur obviously), Wyclef Jean, The Who, Zero 7, Jamie Liddel, Jamie Cullum....

The list never ends...

Television:

I couldn't possibly list all the TV shows I like. There's just too many!
But I could list my TV heroes...

Lt. Col. Richard Sharpe...

Jack Bauer (from 24)...

President Jed Bartlett (from The West Wing)...

Michael Scofield (from Prison Break)...

Dr. Cox (from Scrubs)...

Tom Quinn (from Spooks)
He was the man....

I guess I could always mention my favourite childhood cartoons as well! Why not?!....

Inspector Gadget...
You would question how he could be so high-tech and yet so incredibly slow-witted!...

Roadrunner....
You just waited for the day that Wile E. Coyote would beat him within an inch of his life...

Bucky O' Hare...
Wouldn't it be great to be Will duWitt and go on adventures across the galaxies...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
