I have been anti myspace until now. Here it is.......I basically put up a bunch of my favorite hooping videos (including one of me) and one hell of a playlist of some of my favorite tunes! Im sure I will be adding more videos and fun stuff soon.
So...I guess it was the whole hoop dancing thing that inspired me to finally make a myspace page. I really would like to get in touch with more hoopers in my area. I am trying to get a class going and have been looking at spaces to rent. I will be making my own hoops soon and my wheels have been turning ever since I started doing this.
I first saw hoop dancing at Bonnaroo in 06. I just sat there and watched these girls go BANANAS with these hoops. I was sitting there amazed by it and just this year I was on the Bonnaroo Website and I came across a video of the very same girl I kept seeing at the ROO that year (thats the chick in the orange shirt and yellow shorts below) so I googled it because I figured there must be a class for this somewhere...and what I found was a website called Hoopnotica.com and I bought a hoop and some dvd's and I havent stopped since. My goal is to quit my full time job to teach hoop dance instead! Why not, hooping is meditative, its soothing, its a great stress reliever and is a killer core workout. The best part about hooping is putting on some tunes and just jamming out for awhile! I am dying to try FIRE HOOPING! I even contacted the guy from Providence Waterfire to see if they would ever be interested in having fire hooping in the future to go along with some of the other fire performers!!! Check out some fire hooping in the 6th video below!
