“Bastards of the nation†DEMERIT-a first rate streetpunk band from china,In the same vein as the early 80'S comes the new breed of punx in the new Millennium.They played together pretty much all over china since 2004, so go see them if you get a chance!Their performance was combining strong melodic punk-rock anthems with DIY attitude. In 2004 ,for the love of street punk life style,Liyang(vo/g) xueyang(b) and zhangwei(d)decided to form a band in their hometown Qingdao,later zhangning joined to play guitar while zhushuangsheng replaced zhangwei as new drummer,liyang got rid off guitar and became a sole vocal,the band played its first show as a four piece a month later on qingdao 1st beach music festival. Then they based in beijing for good and drummer quit the band for personal reasons. many drummers play with the band until they meet zack,a SUPER sexy amercian muscle man.DEMERIT became a truely atombomb.at this period, band kept on rehearsing and continued to play shows,soonly they got fame for their constantly struggle in beijing underground punk scene. 24th dec,2005 they performed at 13 club and then the live sound of this show was pressed as a COMPILATION called "forming". their debut "never say die" was finished in April 06 while zack back to the States.their fellow zhensong took the drumkits. band was also booming by this time.they shared stage with the bands like NOFX(usa), INSURGENT KID(sweden) and 4sivits(germany). And they were invited to play on the MIDI music festival,which was the best festival in china. washington post also interviewed with the band two mouth later. DEMERIT had been seeking a second guitarist for helping promote their sound.sep 06 Huihui was added to the lineup.then they were on tour with best-koreanpunkband-ever SUCKSTUFF under the name of rebel spirits.apr 07 the band were appeared on INTER's advertise.
