The bravest thing you can do is be honest.

About Me

I was born in the Bay Area, raised in Hawaii nei. I'm a retired DJ of 23 years; mostly night club, some radio (I like instant gratification). I've worked at most every club in Waikiki and Pearl Habour (Cilly's, Hamburger Mary's and Pearl Harbour were the most fun). I helped develop some of Hawaii's finest DJ's to date (James Coles, Tez, CeeJay to name a few--my babies) and I give full credit to Lisa D. for developing me. I started out doing Jazz but Old School is my forte'. I ended my career doing Jazz, so I feel I have come full circle. As I was coming full circle I decided to go back to school since I totally sucked at it early on. I graduated from UH in 2000 with a double Bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology (not bad for a dyslexic). I loved what I was doing as a DJ, but it was time to get on with the 2nd half of my life and do some REAL work.I moved to the Bay Area (I'm still convinced it's temporary!) to work on a Master's in Culture and Spirituality. After I graduated, I got a job working for a group of Drs. in a dermatology office to pay off the bills and save $$$$ to come home. Somewhere along the way I got married (can ya believe it???) to a Sicilian New Yorker (heaven help me!) and became a licensed Esthetician. THAT was NOT the final goal nor could I do what I REALLY wanted with the 1st Master's so I went back to school for another one. I am currently working on my MFT Intership practicing psychotherapy in death, dying and bereavement (now that's REAL work!!!).I REALLY miss Hawaii, but at this point in my life there is nothing for me to go back to--yet. I go home every 6-8 months and head straight for Zanzibar and Scruples. I miss the club scene: the lights, pounding bass in my chest, the atmosphere, my DJ buds (but my fingers don't get itchy any more). I'm still amazed that my reputation is alive and kicking--thanks to my babies!I freeze my ass off here, but for the most part life is good. Give me sunshine and 85 degrees w/ 82% humidity, PLEASE!!!
