I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 farib.... hmmm, so much to say - old school breaker, abstract artist & graphic designer at heart, but a true passion as a performing artist, entertaining people. born in the bronx, raised in south ozone park queens, nyc most of my life so far (31 yrs) - I was the unstoppable breakdancing kid who always enjoyed a good party and made sure they played the Incredible Bongo Band's 'Apache', Babe Ruth's 'The Mexican', and definitely Jimmy Castor Bunch's 'Just Begun'. keeping true to my ability in being the best crowd pleaser, I hung out with the best of them and the worst of them, but strived for a carreer in the arts. following my brother Jabit aka DJ Rockwell (and the crew Majestic Sound Inc) a mobile dj in the biz, I kept up to date with the latest and best music, the best in fashion and he showed me the latest dance steps so that I would interpret them with my own style. I became a breaker! From alias's like Kid Break to Supreme Swift. I started a few dance crews like Devastating Breakers, Universal Style Breakers, and a short lived Baby Dynamic with the help of Flip from Dynamic Breakers. Following the influences of the many artist / dj's / producers that I grew up around like Little Louie Vega & Kenny Dope (MAW), Todd Terry, Jellybean, Arthur Baker, Shep Pettibone, Roger S, Carlos 'AfterDark' Berrios, Aldo & Amado Marin (CUTTING REC), Latin Rascals, Sa-Fire, TKA, Judy Torres, And More, Trilogy, Sal & the crew at Fever! C&C Music Factory (David Cole R.I.P.), - my passion for the creation of music grew and I wanted to learn more. No matter what - there was always something with art in my life, and the interest of designing logos and creating flyers & advertisements for many of the clubs or parties that these dj's/producers or artist were performing at, peaked my business interest. Someone always needed advertising, a 'look', or an image. This allowed me to gain the knowledge and make connections in the industry. With great thanks to my dear friend, my big brother from another mother 'JuanKato', my quick rise to becoming my own boss in the graphic design business for the music industry evolved, this helped my training in the studio as well to appreciate good sound & understand the various skills needed in the recording studio. Being a part of a record label, a distribution company and a graphic design studio was a one stop deal and learning center. Seeing the birth and being a part of Digital Dungeon Records & Blade To The Rhythm Prod. (and the 6 other labels we managed under the same roof), Underground Music Group Distribution, & Rare Art Gra-Fix helped my carreer in an unimaginable way, being a part of starting carreers for artist/producers like DJ RayRoc, Davidson Ospina, Johnny D & Nicky P (Henry Street Music), Data, DJ Sneak, & That Kid Chris, that I eventually grew to expand my resources to be a part of MusicPlant / Vinyl Soul (formally known as Vibe Music w/ Maurice Joshua) one of the last standing real house music labels in Chicago owned by George Andros 'Georgie Porgie', held together by The legendary Terry Hunter, Xavier Joshua, and the many others who helped make it happen. My experience 'hands on' in the industry spans over 17 years (but have been around it since I was 11 yrs old) from carrying records (lol), choreographing routines, dancing on stage, promotion, recording a few songs, designing artist logos & various independent record label logos as well as CD's and Album designs, to even just being a supportive fan!!! It's with great thanks and gratitude that I am here because of so many of those people I mention and the others as well who helped me get where I am today, so I try to give that back to all the new people I meet and show them that life can be a great learning lesson if you just open your heart & mind. Friendship is key - Now, I have a great life with my wife Leslie for whom I thank for giving me the push to become an accessory/bag designer and my beautiful step-daughter, who I consider 'my daughter' Evelyn (You see I'm not ashamed to mention you!). For the past 8 years I have been designing bags & accessories for various name brands like Starter, And 1, Phat Farm, Marmot, Journey Unlimited, NBA, New Era Europe, Icon and most recently Design Development for Coach. It's a great feeling to see your product from it's inception of a sketch to actual product on a shelf. I am a passionate artist & designer who is always looking to earn more out of life.
