PennStrumental and R-Keys... What more needs to be said? Well for starters... "Look Out World", there's a new genre of music headed your way and it goes by the name of "Funk Rap".
Funk Rap can be defined as: Rapping and Singing with an Ol' School twist. As a team, PennStrumental, graduated from Full Sail Real World Education, and R-Keys are known throughout Palm Beach County, as a dynamic production team with a flare for creating an unusual, but nonetheless, classic southern music.
However, as individual producers, PennStrumental is known for his use of percussions and technical engineering, while on the other hand, R-Keys is seen as the musical prodigy of the two. PennStrumental and R-Keys came together as one after hearing what each person was capable of doing. At that time R-Keys had just produced the hit single "Yo Monkey" by 2Slabz, while PennStrumental had recently released "Flossin' On Da Boulevard" by D-Smoove.
In 2006, PennStrumental and R-Keys came together and produced the single "Can't Dance", introducing the south to the new sound of "Funk Rap", which has swept across the south like a wild brush fire.
With the desire to be acknowledged and recognized by the world of music for their, classic, ol' school music with a southern kick, PennStrumental and R-Keys have both grown from 'little drummer boy' in the church, and church pianist, to becoming two of the most creative and influential producers the world has seen.
"We put the country kick in the beats... It's a southern thing!"
