About Me

VegChico is an informal group of Northern California vegans working to promote veganism in Chico and other northern California towns by coordinating educational, outreach, and social events. We believe and have personally found that a sensibly planned, cruelty-free vegan diet can be easy to achieve, is considerably healthier than the traditional American diet, and, most importantly, significantly reduces animal suffering resulting from an industrialized system of agriculture based on unrelieved confinement and deprivation.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interested in veganism or vegetarianism. Anyone interested in where their food comes from. Anyone interested in the effects of Factory Farming on the animals, the environment, and the family farmer.

Veganism is a way of living that focuses on reverence for life and encourages healthful, compassionate decisions to benefit people, animals, and the environment. Vegans work against the cruel treatment and exploitation of animals by avoiding all animal products and byproducts and by actively seeking viable, plant-based alternatives. To become a vegan is to make a conscientious commitment to a healthy, peaceful, and compassionate world for all creatures.
