DJ Surge is one of the Nations premier Disc Jockey's (DJ) in the entertainment industry, DJ Surge has respectfully established himself in the club scene as a dedicated crowd pleaser. Throughout his travels, Surge has built a reputation as a DJ that uses his originality and passion to deliver memorable moments for party goers.
DJ Surge started his illustrious career at age 13 while playing at his infamous “Hooky House Parties†in the South Bronx for all the students in the neighborhood schools. Surge began developing his style through the influence of his older brother Manny who, at the time, played 80’s house parties. He would go on to be mentored by such famous NYC DJ’s as Larry Levan, Little Louie Vega, Jelly Bean Benitez, Roman Ricardo and Kid Capri. The pinnacle of his career commenced when he joined partners in 1983 with Fat Joe and The Terror Squad to be crowned the official DJ of TS. TS artists include Fat Joe, Remy Martin, Tony Sunshine, and the legendary Big Pun.
In 1992 Surge was introduced to Sal Abbatiello and John “Gungie†Rivera infamously known as the owners of Fever Records who represented the “Fat Boys†(Rhino/WEA), Sweet Sensations (Atlantic Records), and other popular 90’s hip hop artist. Sal and John would hire Surge to DJ at his first major nightclub at the legendary Fever in the South Bronx. Surge then would go on to become the official DJ at Club 2000 in New York City with DJ Funk Master Flex and DJ Bobby Konders. He would eventually head back on the road with Terror Squad again touring across the globe performing at all the official after parties.
DJ Surge has performed at some of entertainments most high profile events in Miami, NYC, The Hampton’s, and others with the likes of such celebrities as Jessica Simpson, Sean Puffy Combs, Janet Jackson, Bruce Willis, Lil’ Jon, Allen Iverson and more. With a home base in Miami, Florida he has played at such clubs as Mansion, Opium, Crobar, SOBE Live, Spirits & Passion in the Hard Rock Casino, Oxygen Lounge Club Bed and others. One of the highlights of 2005, Surge played the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA’s) Opium Garden’s Celebrity After Party. Also, In 2005 Surge went on the Mi Libertad Reggaeton Tour. Beginning 2006 he would cross international waters to perform in Haiti. When he isn’t playing club events or traveling internationally he can be heard on Mega 94.9 Hollywood Fl.
With his 22 years experience DJ Surge has become one the nations premier Disc Jockey’s in the entertainment industry.
