When walking, just walk. When talking, just talk. Above all, don't wobble.

About Me

I was born in Canada. My first love in learning is the Classics. My major in University was Classical Greek. I was introduced to the study of great literature in the works of Plato, Euripides, Sophocles and several other Greek writers. I have read some of Sappho's poetry in the original language. I work in the field of Engineering but I am more of an artist at heart. I am sensitive and spiritual. I love foreign and independent films and art museums. I love the works of Chagall and Modigliani.I enjoy travelling. I have backpacked alone in Italy, The Netherlands, Australia and Greece and have made many friends along the way. I am able to converse in Italian and German and would love to meet some Europeans with whom I could talk and write.I consider myself to be spiritual and have an interest in Eastern spirituality and would enjoy conversing with people of a similar inclination.I am an INFP on the Kiersey Indicator. People of this type tend to be: quiet, reserved, and kind; deeply passionate, sensitive, and easily hurt; loving and dedicated to those close to them; creative, original, and imaginative; curious and flexible in small matters; nonconforming. The most important thing to INFPs is their deeply held beliefs and living in harmony with their values. Loyal and committed - they want lifelong relationships. They are driven to meet other's needs and have a deep capacity for love.In the relationship arena, this causes them to have a very deep capacity for love and caring which is not frequently found with such intensity in the other types. The INFP does not devote their intense feelings towards just anyone, and are relatively reserved about expressing their inner-most feelings. They reserve their deepest love and caring for a select few who are closest to them. INFP will be fiercely loyal once they are committed. With their strong inner core of values, they are intense individuals who value depth and authenticity in their relationships. The Healer (INFP)is the Prince or Princess of fairytale, the King's Champion or Defender of the Faith, like Sir Galahad or Joan of Arc. Healers are found in only 1 percent of the general population, although, at times, their idealism leaves them feeling even more isolated from the rest of humanity.

"Somehow, the painting soothed him. It verified his fears. But it also informed him that fear was wonderful." Timothy Findley
You are Agnostic
You're not sure if God exists, and you don't care.
For you, there's no true way to figure out the divine.
You rather focus on what you can control - your own life.
And you tend to resent when others "sell" religion to you. What's Your Religious Philosophy?

Your Seduction Style: The Natural
You don't really try to seduce people... it just seems to happen. Fun loving and free spirited, you bring out the inner child in people. You are spontaneous, sincere, and unpretentious - a hard combo to find! People drop their guard around you, and find themselves falling fast. What Is Your Seduction Style?

You Belong in 1966
If you scored...
1950 - 1959: You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!
1960 - 1969: You are a free spirit with a huge heart. Love, peace, and happiness rule - oh, and drugs too.
1970 - 1979: Bold and brash, you take life by the horns. Whether you're partying or protesting, you give it your all!
1980 - 1989: Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.
1990 - 1999: With you anything goes! You're grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It's all good! What Year Do You Belong In?

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. The Dalai Lama
If you want to be happy, be. Tolstoy
All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love. Tolstoy
Dreams are necessary to life. Anais Nin
Each friend represents a world in us, a world not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born. Anais Nin
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly. Buddha
You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. It is fearlessness, and it is love. Buddha

My Interests

Literature, poetry, writing, mythology, languages (Italian, German, Russian), music - playing guitar (acoustic), painting (acrylic and oil) and playing ice hockey. Thunderstorms, walks in the rain, sensing the earth beneath my feet, old B+W movies, moonlit nights, starry skies, the smell of the earth after a rainfall, soft caresses, the soft touch of pussy willows against my skin, reading poetry by candlelight, foreign accents, the smell of incense, moroccan interiors, B+W photos, sensuality, spirituality, intimacy, passion, mysticism, dipping my feet in the Tyrhennian Sea at night while feeling the ocean breeze flow through my hair, the autumn scirocco in Sicily carrying with it tumultuous thunderstorms, north african music - I want to see Morocco some day, feeling at one with the universe.

I'd like to meet:

Katrina Lombard (The L Word is not the same without her), The Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlin, people who are compassionate and socially conscious. People who value richness in life's experiences more than riches in material goods. Let's make this world a place where there is opportunity and justice for all.

Perhaps someday people will look beyond surface appearances, sexual preference, race, gender, disabilities etc. and learn to appreciate others for what gifts they offer from within.

"There may be a great fire in our hearts, yet no one ever comes to warm himself at it, and the passers-by see only a wisp of smoke." Vincent Van Gogh
