My Interests

Music:

Everything. Really. Okay, not really. Tend toward high quality folks forms: British, Bluegrass, Old timer Jazz, great singer-songwriters (Stan Rogers, Shane Mcgowan, Richard Thompson, Johnny Cash, things of that sort). I'm also a big fan of 70's progressive rock acts like Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, and later period Beatles.

Movies:

Star Wars (four of them, anyway), Blade Runner, Godfather I and II, Lord of the Rings, Casablanca, just about any Clint Eastwood.

Television:

Seinfeld, Simpsons, Blackadder: High Quality comedy.

Books:

Jack Whyte, J.R.R. Tolkien, Henry Miller, Charles Bukowski.

Heroes:

Just about any of the artists mentioned above.

Post solo gig

I'm really tired after having played late and getting up early with the kids. Played solo last night at the Newfie bar. I suppose I could call it by name since I'm not saying anything inflamatory - so...

In the Studio

I was in the studio with the tenor banjoist last night. It was a good, relaxed session. We cut six tunes. One of which will have to be redone: the rhythm (me) wasn't relaxed enough and was too fast. I...
