Lots O' Interests: Singing, Acting, Dancing (let me clarify, at parties and clubs you ASS not professionally. ;P), Pilates, Yoga, Watching Dumb 80's Teen flicks, Hiking, Bike Riding, Partying, Drinking. I WANT TO DO IT ALL IF I CAN.. Be more adventurous. Travel outside the U.S., do something i've always been afraid to do. I'm getting better and better at letting loose.
Music:
I'm very eclectic.. I love ALL TYPES of music because usually I can find something to appreciate about it. Be it, Classical, Rock, R&B, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Opera, Celtic.. blah blah blah.. As for artists, I lOVE Madge, Janet Jackson, Destiny's Child, Gwen Stefani, Maroon 5, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Kahn, Evelyn Champagne King, Teena Marie (the bitch is bad), Billy Joel, Boston, Phil Collins, Genesis (duh), Kenny Loggins, Journey, Earth Wind & Fire, New Edition, Justin Timberlake... off the top of my head, those are the artist's whose discs I've been known to keep in continuous play. Here's a small selection of what you might hear when you're with me.. that is, if you let me listen to whatever I want. :)
don't even think about knockin' Cher.. Sure her "final farewell" tour went on for way too long, but I love her! I'm sad that I didn't get to go. :(
I love CeCe, her voical skills are amazing. "I Surrender All," was the first song that I felt compelled to perform as a member of the Praise and Worship team for my church. I've sung many songs, but this one is close to my heart.
this album is very poetical to me.. Goosebumps flesh over me whenever I hear "Say Goodbye."
cheesy as it may sound, i really feel "survivor" when I'm working out. Also, I felt it was a very powerful song for the group with the status as it was. i.e. the two girls who left the group.
memories.. i love all Madonna songs. i remember when I was a small girl, i would roll around on the ground to the "Like a Virgin," song. Of course, I had no idea what it meant and for the life of me I can't figure out why mother allowed me to do it, but it was great! haha
yea, it's karaoke cliche', but I love to sing 'On the Radio," when I go karaoking. It's a favorite of mine. I actually love all of her songs. "State of Independance," has got to be my absolute favorite! I did mention that all of these records (yes, i own some in record format) never leave my player without making a complete round, right?? :)
Yea, yea, i know I mentioned before that I love her music. This is her Greatest Hits Volume 2. Since I can't place all of her cds on here (though i came pretty dan close) I referenced both GH's on here. I know you get the point.
"goodbye yellow brick road, when are you going to land? i should have stayed on the farm, I should have listened to my old man..." this song takes me to another place when i listen to it. We received a rental GrandAm when my mother's Acura was in the shop a while back.. I remember cruisin' around in the thing just after I bought this cd. I wanted to listen to its contents and thats when i found myself hitting the repeat button over and over again just to hear the title song. ::smiles::
I'm fulfilled, are you? haha But seriously, you can't tell me you didn't want to shake it to "lose my breath." Ahh.. memories.. That song was the first song I used on MS as my back drop. ;)
oh come on?!? who hasn't sung along to the tunes on this record? With the exception of ultra testosterone filled men, you know who i'm talking to! No one in particular, but I remember having this one male friend that said the entire movie and soundtrack made his body itch. haha
the best make out cd on the face of this planet! not that i know what "making out," is or anything.. i'm just saying the cd is great..haha
"I just died," has got to be one of the most sexy songs on the face of this planet.. My cousin introduced me to the cd and I loved it. It was on continuous play for a month!
I fell in love with Beethoven during my days playing clarinet.. (the madness had to stop on that one ;) ) I love everything about him, he was arrogant yet truly brilliant! The movies wasn't half bad either. HAHA
Who doesn't remember the upheaval that the title song caused when the video debuted and destroyed the partnership that Madge had with pepsi for a commercial? If you were born subsequent to 89 don't even bother answering the question. I remember eagerly anticipating the debut of the commercial on tv. I further remember the anticipation of the music video.. Ahh, the music video generation. :)
All right, another cheesy moment.. I love this man, he's been a guiding force behind many of my favorite dumb teen flicks. I also love the earlier stuff with Messina (could I be any folksier??haha)
i can't lie, my aunt introduced me to the wonderment of this man's music. He sang with style and soul which could be felt to your very core. I loved him. The first album is special to me because its the one that my aunt shared with me. She asked me if I was in the "know." I'm like, "in the know of what? Is this like that one man who sounds like a pervert?" She laughed.. I was referring to Barry White.. Barry Barry Barry.. If only I'd known then what I know now.. Actually, its best that I didn't know. I wasn't old enough for that yet!
ahhh, memories of rolling around on the ground just like Madge during her first Mtv performance at the first MTv music awards. haha. man those times were cheesy.
i got to see this broadway production when it arrived in Los Angeles Pantages Theater on October 20, 2004. A friend of mine provided front row seats. It was absolutely amazing. If I thought I loved Billy Joel's music, my love for it was set ablaze when I saw this play. Bringing all of his songs to life in a story about friendship and discovery is brilliant!
"don't put me off 'cause i'm on fire, and i can't quench my desire.. don't you know that i'm burning up for your love.. you're not convinced that that is enough, to justify my wanting you now tell me what you want me to do, i'm alive and I know, that you want to want me but you can't let go. haha.. Madonna a lyrical genius? Never. Her music is laughable, but i love it nevertheless.
i came 3 nanoseconds close to seeing her perform at Universal Ampitheater. I'm upset that I missed it. nuff said. :P Although, I'm still kind of bogged down by the question of what exactly was she thinking when she wore that outfit to the BET awards? I'm going to let it go because she was there to pay tribue to her dear friend, but her stylist needed a serious @$$ whippin'.
I was so in love with Ralph.. "would you love me? when nights are cold. would you love me? when I grow old. would you care? baby it's not easy. take me by surprise and say you're there.." ::tear::(p.s. he still is very handsome in my book.)
the seasons as they change. I wonder if I can have all of the movements in my wedding? because i'm getting married soon. (you did sense the sarcasm, right?)
It's CeCe again! I love her. Check her out, she'll guide your spirit. :)
::tear:: did i forget to mention that i went to the reinvention tour in August of 2004? It was so amazing. Ever since I can remember, I wanted to go to one of her performances. The girly tour was when I might have been old enough to participate, but the show was geared towards an adult audience and mom wouldn't let me go. Can't say I blame her.. :) They were afterall, having an orgy onstage. Can't say I approve of that either.. truly tasteless, but she's still my girl. :)
I was just entering my 21st year when this came out. actually, i might have been 20, but whatever the case, I remember it wsa hot when we hit the clubs. Man, "Jumpin' Jumpin'," was the joint to make it bounce to. I had a blast!
cher cher and more cher! i LOVED her comedy hour.. well Sonny and her in their comendy hour. (was that correct english?) whatever. She was a V-A-M-P~~ VAMP!
i LOVE Whitney PC. She was in her element back in the golden age that was the 80's.. Too bad we can't take her back to her roots so she can re-evolve into something greater. She had a powerhouse voice.
The version of "Get Into The Groove," is the most powerful. Her moderation of, "Now I know you're mine," tells that man that he isn't going anywhere. He's going to dance with her.. Did you know that get into the groove was a euphism for sex? Of course you did, the song was performed by Madonna.. That's all she sang about at the time. :)
CeCe again. Just DO IT!
i'll have to come up with something additional to write later.. My brain is begining to feel tapped. That and the fact that this is turning out to be an exceptionally long list item on my board!
I know, she's the epitome of ault contemporary which is considered by most to be absolutely dreadful and i admit that I could never watch her perform, but her voice is absolutely amazing. I love it. She moves me!
oh my goodness, how much cher could I possibly have on one page? this might be a bit much. I'm sure you get the point.
the first album! where it all began! now this is memories. Rolling around in my mother's honda prelude activing as if it were mine. I was in highschool, working at a pizza joint.. Yea right. haha
Movies:
My favorite comes from the dumb teen flick genre of the 80's: Fast Times at Ridgemont High:
("My name is Mr. Hand, and I have but one question... Can you attend my class...") I also love Peggy Sue Got Married
("Peggy, you know what a penis is? Stay away from it!") Sixteen Candles
("I can't believe my Grandmother felt me up.." "Donger's here for five hours, and he's got somebody. I live here my whole life, and I'm like a disease.") Breakfast Club
("Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe? Show dick some respect.")Pretty in Pink
(Andrew McCarthy ::drools:: "You couldn't buy her, though, that's what's killing you, isn't it? Stef? That's it, Stef. She thinks you're shit. And deep down, you know she's right.) Secret Admirer
("My Mother's in there crying and I hope you're happy..") The Goonies
("Hey YOU GUYS!" and "Everything? OK! I'll talk! In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max's toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog... When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I got nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out... But the worst thing I ever done - I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa - and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life.) The Color Purple
("See Daddy, sinners have soul too." "She's going to shave MISTER") The Wraith
(could Charlie have been any fuckin' hotter in that movie? no, don't think so.."You really think I'd go to California with you? I'd rather go to Nogales, have the Gutterboy's cretin children and die than be with you!) Romancing the Stone
(Who doesn't want adventure and romance like that.. friggin' steam those windows up! And Michael Douglas was at his hottest.. you can hardly say that now. That was the end of Grogan... the man who killed my father, raped and murdered my sister, burned my ranch, shot my dog, and stole my Bible! And Jack would never die without telling me..)
There's a hell of a lot more, and I'm sure that i'll add more at a later date (when I'm not suppose to be working HAHA), but for now, that will do it. ::smiles::
