About Me

I used to have this big list of people who I played with and what styles I can cover. It was long, but it was also pretty ego driven. "LOOK AT ME!! LOOK AT ME!!!!! Sad really.
I'm Mike and I play bass. Sing every now and then too.
I play a lot at my church- Kensington Community Church and serve as Music Director for our new "west" campus in Birmingham.
As well as playing a lot of gigs in and around the Detroit area.
I've played in front of as little as a handful of people in small clubs, to 10,000+ in big arenas (and yes, you never heard of me!!).
From Pop to Country to R&B to Contemporary Christian, I've played a LOT of different styles and grooved them all.
So, take a look around and if you see what you like, great!!!!. If not, well great!!!!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members:

Influences: My wife for loving me for who I am, my daughter growing up in front of my eyes everyday and Christ letting me know in a big way, that things can and will be OK.
I’ve made some good and bad decisions that have influenced me to who and where I am today.
Music/bass playing influences:
Will Lee, Chuck Rainey (see my "Rant" in my blog about bass players!), Alain Caron, Jimmy Earl, Marcus Miller, Matt Garrison, Steely Dan, Mark King, Oteil Burbridge, Miles Davis, Pino Palladino, Train, Sade, Brand New Heavies, Sting, Stevie Wonder’s left hand!! (LOL!!!) and the list could go on and on and on.......

Popularity, fame & money are lousy ways to keep score in life.
Integrity, honesty and how you treat yourself and others is a better mark in my opinion.
