I'm one of those music wankers who lists every band they like. Here I go: Classical to hardcore metal, jazz to grunge, wanky prog rock to hip hop. Some of my favourites are Tool, Mars Volta, System of a Down, A Perfect Circle, Led Zepplin, At The Drive In, Black Sabbath, Wolfmother, Black Keys, White Stripes, Dillinger Escape Plan, Venetian Snares, Beck, Radiohead, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Michael Jackson, Charles Mingus, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, The Beatles, John Zorn's Masada Guitars stuff is pretty amazing. Muse, Greenday, and I'm liking what the Arctic Monkeys are doing.Anything Mike Patton has ever been involved with... the man is a fucking genius: Mr Bungle, Faith No More, Tomahawk, Fantomas, Lovage, his shit with Dillinger was fucking amazing, Peeping Tom, General Patton vs. The X-ecutioners, all awesome.I've discovered and been introduced to some excellent hip-hop in the past couple years too. I really like Dan the Automator and the collaborations he's done with various folk. The Handsome Boy Modelling School stuff was great, I especially like the collab they did with Cedric from the Mars Volta. Deltron3030 is a good listen too. Danger Mouse and Dr Doom are two great artists as well, the Danger Doom album was bitchin. Roots Manuva, Sage Francis, Streets,(International) Noise Conspiracy, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone, Propaghandi, Soundgarden, Beastie Boys, Ben Folds Five, Blues Explosion, Blur, Butterfly Effect, Chemical Brothers, The Clash, The Doors, Flaming Lips, Frenzal Rhomb,King Crimson, Living End, Grinspoon, Mad Caddies, Mad Capsule Markets, Marilyn Manson, Metallica, Misfits, NOFX, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Portishead, Sneaker Pimps, Queen, Chili Peppers, Refused, RJD2, Shihad, Silverchair, Stevie Wonder, Surfjan stevens, Tweaker, Xavier Rudd.
I dig most of Tim Burton's stuff. I alwayslike the Depp/Burton collaborations. Sleepy Hollow is rad.Fight Club, Lock Stock and Snatch, King Kong (both versions.... lets just pretend the 70's version never happened). The Matrix (first one only) and Donnie Darko are good. I love the entire Evil Dead trilogy. And Romero's Dead quadrilogy is the shit; Night of the Dead is great in that it really spawned the whole Zombie genre and did so many new things that became generic conventions, Dawn of the Dead is a perfect survival horror film with a bit of humour, Day of the Dead is fucking brutal, and Land of the Dead was about as good as I think you could expect from Romero having been given so much money.
