ANTHENA. En référence à la firme de jeux dans le film barré de David Cronenberg, eXistenZ.
C'est sur ces marques que le groupe se forme sur l'initiative d'Antho et Dav, respectivement batteur et guitariste, suite à la séparation de leur précédente formation fin 2003. Les 2 musiciens, au goût commun pour le metal au sens large du terme, viennent à recruter les membres manquants au projet Anthena.
Début 2004, avec l'arrivée de Ced (chant) et Ben (basse), le groupe entame un long travail de composition, s'inscrivant d'emblée dans une veine fusion. Fusion des styles, née de l'éclectisme musical de chacun d'où ressortent unanimement des groupes tels que Incubus, Rage Against The Machine, Faith No More ou encore System Of A Down.
Après des débuts empreints de ces influences de manière encore évidente, le groupe trouve ses marques et se forge un style, définissable comme un rock sombre et acéré fortement teinté de metal. Une musique où priment intensité, puissance et émotion.
Courant 2005, Nico (ex-MUKS) rejoint le groupe. Avec désormais 2 guitaristes, la personnalité d'Anthena s'affirme de plus belle. Les compos s'étoffent, prennent une nouvelle ampleur ainsi qu'une tournure plus expérimentale.
Début 2006, le groupe boucle sa toute première démo 6 titres, enregistrée "maison". Le démarchage peut enfin commencer !

From this point, the band got created by Antho and Dav respectively drummer and guitarist after split of their previous band at the end of 2003. The 2 musicians who share large metal influences decide to recruit missing members for Anthena project.
Early 2004, Ced and Ben are coming and the band begins a long work of composition, which right away bring out a kind of fusion. This fusion of styles grows with musical open minding from any of them and the band naturally sounds like Incubus, Rage Against The Machine, Faith no More or System Of A Down.
After this beginning when influences sounds obviously, the band work his style out, which could be defined as a dark and straight rock coloured by metal, a music which leaves place for intensity, power and emotion above all.
In the course of 2005, Niko (ex-MUKS) join the band. From now, with 2 guitarists, the spirit of Anthena grows ever. Compositions raise, magnify and take such an experimental turn.
In 2006, the band is finishing a very first EP 6 titles, performed “at homeâ€. The next step can just begin now!
