Since almost ever, EL ROYCE plays a furious punk'n'roll, fueled by axe-wielding, drum-thumping, bass-pounding and throat-tearing. The secret of their special sauce? A larger than life sound mainly influenced by upper class melodic smiths (Bob Mould Sugar, Foo Fighters), a bunch of old school bastards (ACDC, Motorhead) and a pinch of pubescent seminal fluid (At The Drive In, Billy Talent).
Based in Nantes (FR), this three-piece outfit brings together a Clermont-Ferrand-born exiled a couple of years in London (Delicate Awol) and two mates well-known in the local scene (Chears, Divine Furia, Fools, UZY…).
These guys know the score! For many years they've scoured many spots, from hundreds lousy bars to famous french venues (La Cigale-Paris, La Locomotive-Paris, Le Gibus Club-Paris, Le Rex Club-Paris, La Cité-Rennes, Les Transmusicales Off-Rennes, L’Olympic-Nantes, Le Fuzz'Yon-La Roche sur Yon…).
The story gently starts in 2002 with a first line-up and a DIY debut-demo "DIESEL" (8-tracks EP) in 2003, then a second attempt "DIRECT LIVE" (5-tracks EP) in 2004. Fortunately, that kind of very cheap recordings are heavily offset by huge live acts. As a trademark, the stage always been the favorite playground for the band.
In 2005, after few personnel changes EL ROYCE set some new attack plans. In summer, a 4-tracks EP is recorded at AudioCapsule studio with Chris Hogommat. Mixed in fall, this new CD is released in march 2006 and acclaimed by french indie press and radios. Armed and dangerous, the crew is now ready to take the stage and set the fire anywhere they go.
During all the year, the power trio work out some new bomb material. In the end of 2007, they go back to AudioCapsule with Chris "Magic" Hogommat for a long-play recording (13 tracks). A new album will be released in 2008.

Depuis bientôt toujours, EL ROYCE envoie du gros bois taillé dans des amplis gargantuesques et de la batterie de bûcheron. Le secret de leur sauce façon gros rock qui tache le slip : une généreuse poignée de mélodies catchy toujours impeccables (Husker Du, Foo Fighters), un son franc et massif tiré de millésimes hors d’âge (ACDC, Motorhead) et pour emballer le tout, une bonne dose d’énergie pubère (At The Drive In, Billy Talent). Power Pop Punk’n’Roll !
Avec Nantes pour port d’attache, le trio regroupe un clermontois anciennement exilé à Londres (Delicate Awol) et deux activistes bien connus de la scène locale (Chears, Divine Furia, Fools, UZY…). Durant leurs longues années d’errance les garçons ont écumé quelques podiums mythiques (La Cigale, La Loco, Le Gibus, Le Rex Club, La Cité-Rennes, les Trans’off, L’Olympic-Nantes…) et plusieurs centaines de concerts en bars en France, comme à l’étranger.
En 2002, EL ROYCE démarre gentiment son association de malfaiteurs et connaît une première phase de jeu. De ces années seront tirées une première démo «Diesel» (8 titres 2003) suivie d’une seconde «Direct Live» (5 titres 2004) puisque c’est bien évidemment sur scène que le combo développe ses fondamentaux et met le feu à chaque fois que l’occasion lui est donnée.
En 2005 après quelques petits ajustements de personnel, EL ROYCE revient avec un nouveau line-up punchy à souhait et une furieuse envie d’en découdre. Cette même année, le groupe s’offre durant l’été une session au studio Audiocapsule sous la houlette de Cristobal «Magic» Hogommat. Mixé à l’automne, ce nouveau CD (EP 4 titres) sort en mars 2006. Do it yourself or die trying !
Durant toute l’année, le power trio confectionne au nez et à la barbe du conseil de sécurité de l’ONU quelques jolies bombinettes déjà disponibles sur scène et fin 2007, EL ROYCE reprend le chemin du studio Audiocapsule pour un enregistrement long format (13 titres). Plusieurs morceaux sont actuellement en écoute en ligne, en attendant la sortie de l’album courant 2008.
De nature généreuse, le groupe est devenu fameux auprès de la communauté d’internautes avec ses précieux conseils sur comment gérer sa page MySpace et un blog hilarant où sont relatées toutes leurs aventures, de la remorque de camion à bestiaux jusqu’à leur rencontre avec le dieu vivant Jim Marshall (www.myspace.com/elroyce). Vous l’aurez compris, EL ROYCE c’est le groupe authentique qui égaiera vos plus belles soirées, noces, banquets, enterrements, bar-mitzvah…
