Digital death, tabletop transcendence, reading until I'm ill, getting lost in the woods, hiking in the desert without water, girls in short skirts and thigh-high boots, topping, no not "toppings"; look it up, D/s, triads, rockabilly, outerspace, armillary spheres, orreries, steampunk, neo-Victorianism, fixing things, seeing really dorky movies at 12:01 AM, bioinformatics, information theory, tesseracts, ok science in general, anime that doesn't suck, sci-fi that doesn't suck, yammering endlessly my opinions on politics, science, ethics and morality, wandering around the city at night, and seeing good shows in venues smaller than a city block.
I can't believe I found this. YouTube has everything.
2001: A Space Odessey, American Beauty, Bladerunner, Lord of the Rings, The Fifth Element, The Shining, The Dark Crystal, Tron, Taxi Driver, WarGames, Evil Dead II, Chinatown, American Psycho, Breathless, Jaws, Roman Holiday, Say Anything, The Secret of NIMH, The Big Lebowski, Twelve Monkeys, Groundhog Day, Close Encounters, The Prestige. Really anything by Kubrick, the Coen brothers, Godard, Jeunet, or Spielberg is pretty much great. Yes, I said I liked Godard and Spielberg in the same sentence; go to hell.
MythBusters, Survirorman, BSG, Firefly, Deadwood, Cowboy Bebop, Harvey Birdman, Good Eats, Invader Zim, Pinky and the Brain, Rome, the State, DogFights, and Korgoth of Barbaria.
For Whom the Bell Tolls, Neuromancer, 1984, Snowcrash, the Fountainhead, Ender's Game, Dune, The Sun Also Rises, Stranger in a Strange Land, Brave New World, The Illustrated Man (Kaleidoscope), Dandelion Wine, Lord of the Rings series, Song of Fire and Ice series, the Baroque Cycle. I've read so many damned books, mostly fantasy, mostly crap. Hemingway and Bradbury are probably my favorite authors, although Neal Stephenson is growing on me.
Oppenheimer. Claude Shannon. Beethoven. FDR. Queen Victoria. Da Vinci. Thomas Jefferson. Archimedes. You know, smart people who made a difference.
