About Me

A voice blooms in the mountains of Northern Arizona with a song so original and pure that everyone who hears it stops to listen. Amidst the pinion pines and desert sage of Prescott, Arizona, Chloé Stuff is a fresh drink of soul quenching water. Her unique sound can only be described as an inspired blend of acoustic, alternative, and folk, which resonates with infectious clarity from this five foot three blond beauty. One listener described Chloés music as, an inspired blend of heart and grit.Chloé has been studying piano and music theory since the tender age of six. Her natural talent blossomed into an astonishing capacity for song writing, characterized by a fresh sound; each note punctuated by a voice ripe with talent, communicating the underlying fabric of her life with a blinding honesty. Chloé can be found serenading the multitudes at various venues around Arizona, recording her original music, or teaching music to elementary age children.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: in progress...
Band Members: Chloé Stuff - Vocals, Piano, Songwriting
Influences: My piano teacher Lydia Herholdt. I grew up listening to alot of folk music, and nova scotian folk music such as the Rankin Family. Never in my life have I tried to make myself "sound like" anyone else. I grew up listening to John Denver, James Taylor, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Traci Chapman. I don't neccessarily try to take my influences from them, but growing up this is what my mom listened to, so it was what I listened to. Also, in my teenage years (not that long ago), I played in alot of church bands, I listened to alot of Christian music. Again, I don't neccessarily use those as my influences, but it was a big part of my life so I'm sure that I have unconciously retained alot of the things that I heard and played.Currently I listen to a wide variety of music (doesn't everyone?). I love Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Sarah MacLaclan, The Cranberries, Spoon, Portishead, to name a very small selection.
Sounds Like: I have been told I sound like Dolores O'Riordan, of the Cranberries, Sarah Mclachlan, and Amy Lee (Evanescence).

CD.. Thoughts.. opinions?

Hmm.. so I've been working on me CD since May.  I've decided that I don't really like what I have, and if it's going to represent me, and my music.  I had better like it.  So umm.. yeah...
