Mostly things that can't be expressed in words - music (is the shit!), imagination, altered/dream states, the mind, inner/outer space, most animals, unspoiled nature, silliness, mysticism, tolerance, long hair hanging in a beautiful girl's face, etc.
People with integrity, and a sense of fun/humor.
Oh God. Well, mainly anything with a good sense of melody, mellowness and/or imagination - The Beatles are the greatest, then perhaps Robert Pollard/Guided By Voices, The Lolas (from Birmingham - CHECK THEM OUT), Gentle Giant, Genesis ('70's version), The Beach Boys, Boredoms, Brian Eno, The Incredible String Band, Robyn Hitchcock/The Soft Boys, Yes, Tom Petty, Henry Cow, Tower Recordings, etc. Mostly stuff from 1966-1973.....a lot of obscure shit also. I listen a lot to my stuff too - hopefully that doesn't seem egotistical.
I'm funny about movies - there's not many that can keep me in my seat for the duration. I'd rather listen to music. But a few I like include Nosferatu (1920's version), It's A Wonderful Life, Falling Down, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Spinal Tap (the greatest comedy EVER!), Groundhog Day - mostly good comedies I s'pose.
No thank you. Well, there's a few exceptions - The Simpsons (in the '90's), Mystery Science Theater 3000, Seinfeld, The Andy Griffith Show....but TV always was and will be 95% SHIT.
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Brave New World, The History Of Mysticism, The Real Frank Zappa Book, Wouldn't It Be Nice (Brian Wilson's autobiography), Neither Here Nor There (Bill Bryson), Psychotic Reactions And Carbureator (sp?)Dung (Lester Bangs), Tripping : An Anthology and a very few others.
Anyone who follows their soul regardless of the times, trends or organizations.
