I know it sounds gay and arty, but i dont know if i could live without my music. Yes, i love what people called "Old Music", and some may turn their noses up to it, but this is THE music. You may love the music of today, but i think it means much more when you know who the music came from, what the artists of TODAY grew up with. How can you be inspired by a band if you wont listen to the music that inspired them? The artists who inspire me most are those who manage to produce such different styles of music over decades and generations. David Bowie is my hero, for this exact reason, and also because of his ablitity to sing into you and take over you, without you even knowing what hes singing about. His songs and concept albums create worlds that mean so many different things to different people, and i think Bowie fans have a bond not because they all "get it", but because it all touches them, but in different ways. The Rolling Stones are another band who, not neccessarily change their style, but have managed to have a huge impact on the music for the past 40 years, which compared to the Beatles 13 years is mighty impressive. When people say that they dont like music, its a lie. And it doesnt matter if people listen to more than one type of music... I have Doris Day, Marilyn Manson and Spice Girls on my iPod. What matters is that you never disguard music (even if it is Green Day ;) ), because all songs have memories, and those are ones that will be held in history for as long as the song exists.
