Late summer of 2004, when a couple of friends drinking and watching old Psychobilly shows on DVD thinking:â€Hey, let’s put a band togetherâ€, because there hasn’t been a Psycho band in Gothenburg since “Honken & the Hockeyklubbers†1984-1985.Gustaf from “Honken & the Hockeyklubbers†and numerous of rockabilly & punk bands (such as The Partisans, Buckshots), was really into starting the new band. The ex-guitar player of “Campfire Killersâ€, Matte tagged along with a big smile and Sebastian on slap bass, who where bass player in different Oi & punk bands during the mid 80’s was all into it and got hold of an upright bass from the 40’s in a local church and started slapping. The only one who couldn’t play any instrument, Mika, it was the mic left.
A couple of months later Joke who’s been playing in a couple of punk & Hardcore bands and also was really into Psychobilly joined as a second guitarist.
Wreckers are here… Absolutely on of the most interested Psycho/Punkrock bands today and a promise that you going to here more than this 7†EP. Stay tuned!
Wreckers have shared stage with acts such as the Caravans, the Meteors, Dead by Gun, The Vicious, Buckshots, Torpedo Gbg, Demented Are Go and more.
In the beginning of 2007 Matte left the band becouse of personal reasons, (no hard feelings but you could told us in persona, take care of your self and ya family. Kram gubbjävel. )
Couple of months leater Mika become the second one to leave the band ( As i have always said, you gonna be a rock n´roll star, good luck with the new project. Booyaa. ) and now what?
2 ways 2 go, Split up or keep on rollin´. We decided 2 try, with only one week left to the teminal damage party in Lund Sweden we decided to play.
We rehearsled on the same morning as the gig and i had to write 8 new lyrics. We did a hell of a show and decided to keep on rollin´ as a trio.
We take day by day and feel in what direction we should go, but as it seems now, we gonna be evil to the bone.
