the older i get, the better i was . . .

About Me

always looking for fun - skippin' work, climbin' rocks, playin' with the kids, people watching, jamming with the band, road trips, surfing, skiing and boarding, fly fishing, shootin' stuff, ridin' bikes (motors or pedals), and tinkering with all the gear ('cause stuff breaks). maybe some day i'll write something that someone would want to read, film something that someone would want to watch, play music that - well, you get the idea . . . and for my very tolerant wife - learn to cook! .. My Interests

travel as much as possible . . . climb the rocks, catch the bands, scare the fish, eat the waves (and ride one occasionally).love watching my kids grow (and i'm considering growing up with them some day)!!! Ben started high school this year, Kyra's in her terrible 2's and Sylvie's still draggin' on the teet . . .

Movies:

wow!!! love the movies !!! just about anything . . . all-time favorites (more or less chronologically): star wars, caddyshack, fast times at ridgemont high, meatballs, this is spinal tap, lonesome dove, unforgiven, point break, pulp fiction, office space, fear and loathing..., the emperor's new groove, the first matrix, clerks, jim jarmusch's "dead man," super troopers (too bad about club dread)...almost famous, school of rock, old school, sideways, 40 year old virgin - just to name a few!- anything and everything that's funny!!!

Television:

not much 'cept football and the funnies - reno 911, king of the hill, my name is earl, the office, 30 rock and late night w/conan - "it's all right my babies!"

Books:

because of the law school trauma, i'm more of a magazine guy these days . . . here's one to check out though: WEST WITH THE NIGHT by Beryl Markham (and her husband) - a small book from an era of giants (faulkner, steinbeck, hemmingway et al) that nonetheless epitomizes STYLE!

Heroes:

___my heroes have always been cowboys, and they still are it seems . . . wait, isn't that a song too ?Seriously though - my grandpa (1923-1996) - took shrapnel in WWII, beaten up over 30 years in the coal mines, and always the most generous man i've ever known - a man of faith who walked the talk. . . . i'll also throw in a few who inspire me - chuck yeager; wolfgang gullich (and all the kids who climb way harder than me), and the late stevie ray for playing the blues like that!
