My name is Steve Emerson, I'm 27 years old. I graduated from Eveleth-Gilbert in 99', and since made my way into Brainerd. I am a Service Writer at Tanner Honda, and love my job. I have two dogs(Chloe-Boxer;Buckley-Pug) that I share with my girlfriend, Jackie. Racing is a big passion in my life, and has started to become a lifestyle. I started racing cross-country after a year on the MN North Snocross circuit, via Josh Goble. My first year I raced the 440 class, having a unheard of rookie year, winning the FXR 440 Championship. The summer of 2006, I made the decision to get into racing quads in District 23. I was having a great season running top in my class, when I had a setback and crushed my right wrist joint, and spiral fractured my right ankle. After surgery of 4 plates and 10 screws, and months of physical therapy, I was bound and determined to get back onto the track. 2007 wasn't such a good year racing wise, still "green" from the injury it was tough mentally for me to compete. I spent most of summer of 2007, riding, riding, riding and entering in some local races and started gaining my confidence back. In the winter of 2007 I caught one of the biggest breaks of my racing career, after being referred from a local cross-country rider, my local dealership decided to step up along with Yamaha and help me out for cross-country in the Sport 85 class. It was a great season for me, finishing the I-500, the only Phazer to do so, and getting 2nd in season points in the Sport 85 class. Along with that, I got 2nd in points in the USCC Triple Crown Points in Sport 85. I also raced 2 of the 3 pro races in the Triple Crown Events with a Nytro, and finished 16th out of 30 racers. With racing, I've proven to myself hardwork pays off, and with 14+ broken bones, I've shown I am completely driven.
