The Charles X Barkley Revival

okay so one day there was a band called the charlesXbarkley revival and another band called seneca and they had a show at some really rich girl's house. this was in april of 2003. seneca played mostly to a bunch of 14 year olds and other babies. after their set, this guy named stan started rapping onstage about how "newjacks" were ruining everything about north carolina hardcore. these newjacks were all allied under this online message board called "washyourbrain.com", and the collective idiocy of its members made the forum suck ass. for some reason unbeknownst to the narrator, "old-school" scenesters and people from "old-school" message board deadamerica.org joined the message board to basically poke fun at the "newjacks," but they all eventually became friends or at least acquaintances. but that didnt keep the forum from sucking ass. in the meantime, deadamerica.org kept getting harder and harder to read due to idiots consistently joining/ruining the board. anyways, back to the show. CXBR played a show, and as usual, everyone hated it besides ryan holladay. to further assert their "old-school"-ness, members of the audience requested that CXBR played "firestorm" by popular "old-school" hardcore band Earth Crisis. no one in CXBR was straight-edge, except ryan (who lives in Chicago now), so they refused to play the song. josh high poured honey on himself. i smashed my guitar. brad wenner got his CDs stolen. the night was a success of sorts, but it had failed to integrate "old-school" and "newjacks." the relationship was further strained over time.
