About Me

I've been married to my wonderful hubby, Shawn, since 1996. We have 5 children together. Yes, we understand how to use birth control. No, we don't have to many. We live in Mishawaka which is the town I grew up in and I do not work outside of the home. I also homeschool my crew. www.fairleighfamily.blogspot.comLayout made by

My Interests

Computer and emailing with my friends. I also recently started making bracelets for my girls and that's fun.

I'd like to meet:

..
..

Music:

James Taylor, Ronnie Milsap, John Denver, Garth Brooks, Neil Diamond, Aerosmith, The Fray, Bread, Tom Petty, Tracy Chapman, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Guns N Roses, Praise and Worship.....you can see I like a wide variety. I don't listen to rap or much hip hop though although a good, catchy song comes a long from time to time. I like oldies and 80's

Movies:

I prefer romantic comedies but Shawn makes me watch scary ones from time to time.

Television:

King of Queens, My Name is Earl, Mad TV, ER and Everybody Loves Raymond reruns. I like the short, half hour comedies the most. Rarely watch reality TV although we all like Biggest Loser over here :)

Books:

I read a lot of children's books! When it comes to reading for myself I like reading ideas and thoughts on homeschooling and I enjoy most fiction books.

Heroes:

My husband and kids. My husband works hard to provide for us and my kids have not been handed an easy life but they handle it with grace, compassion and an attitude that makes everyone around them smile!

My Blog

Pick your battles

I'm a stickler for bedtime routines. I think kids need them and parents need them. I see parents feed into bad habits and then they don't get enough sleep and neither does the child. I feel badly for ...

Blessing 5 is trying to come out early...shocker!

Had another doctor appointment this week.  My BP was good, weight down 1/2 pound and heart beat on baby was good (seemed low at 124 to me)  She is still breech (TURN!) and my cervix has gott...

Matthew update

As most of you know, Matthew had surgery on June 30th.  It was a pretty major operation and had us all anxious.  He came through it great and like the champ he is.  He didn't even cry o...

Flowers and Sunshine

I wanted to do an update to my doom and gloom email.  Things have gotten much better with my pregnancy.  My AFP came back fine and my ultrasound yesterday went smoothly.  I won't know a...

Doom and gloom?

For some reason this pregnancy seems to be dragging a black cloud along with it.  I’m sure it’s all irrational feelings but I can’t shake that something isn’t right. ...

Cat’s out of the bag

We finally told family that I'm pregnant with our fifth child.  I think everyone was shocked and speechless!  Everyone was happy (or faked it well enough). I'm feeling blessed right now to h...

Perfect Vision

We recently went on a short vacation.  On the way home we stopped at a McDonald's.  We sat to eat at one of those long stretches of table.  During our meal an elderly man sat at th...
