RocStar
is one of the nations top hip hop artists. With a flow that is smooth on
the mic like Snoop, and lyrics like the legendary Jay-Z, he has the
potential to be the next big star. Known for his universal
sound in a time when Dirty South rap is in, Roc vows to
shake some things up with his independent release "Beale Street
Blues." From the first track to the last song, you get hot beats
and rhymes that actually have substance. A
native of Memphis Tennessee, (Home of the Blues) RocStar
deals with issues such as racism, poverty, and street
life. "Every song cant be about movin weight or slanging crack. I embrace every
aspect of my life. Most of my album is about past experiences and shit I go thru on a day to day basis."
What people dont know is that Roc
makes dope beats as well. "I produced the majority of my album. People say Im like a down south Kanye West,
but I think I am cooler than he is. . haha." Roc has worked with
Tela, Drum Squad, Stat Quo, Dem Franchise Boyz, Blockburnaz,
amongst others. Roc has performed at venues all around
Memphis like The Plush Club, The Mid-South Coliseum, The Pyramid, Hard Rock Café,
Young Ave. Deli, Douglas Park, Newby's, High Point Pinch, and The Field
on Beale. He has done shows with Three Six Mafia, Ja-Rule, Jagged Edge, Mystikal, Trina, Trick
Daddy, Baby, Eightball & MJG, and Too Short, Tone Loc.
