About Me

Missing Chums is a Punk/Pop-Punk/Progressive band from Orange County that uses a versatile arrangement of music styles and experimental genre blends. The first ideas that would one day become the band were dreamed up by guitarist/pianist/vocalist Dave Penner and bass guitarist/ vocalist Eli Chance in 2003, and from then on these two went on to write poetic lyrics and catchy licks that would one day come to be known as the first Missing Chums tracks. Realizing his potential to add a new dimension to the mix, Dave and Eli soon recruited Daves cousin and guitarist for the band, John Penner. In the time this trio was together, they had no available drummer and so were forced to create entirely different piano/acoustical oriented songs. This only strengthened them, however, and soon they ran into Elis old friend Matt Schmidt, who quickly brought his talent to the table and added his own blends.
Now, Missing Chums is expanding its borders and looking to play whatever shows they can get their hands on to get more experience and seek all opportunities possible. For Missing Chums, creating, recording, and performing music is what their passion has become, and whatever the future has in store for them they will surely continue to be making music. Now known for their passionate vocals, their energetic stage-performance, and their humorous charisma, this group of friends is set on a love for music and a passionate dedication to their fans.
