DRILL QUEEN
The band started 3 years ago when Ray spotted V. Delila playing with her band "Machete" at the British Bulldog Club in the Haitian district of Miami. They instantly hit it off and began writing together, initially performing with V's band and later as a duo.
Six months later, they met Erik at a fund raising event for the Reverend Al Sharpton's presidential candidacy in Brooklyn, New York. It was at this precise moment that Drill Queen was born. Drill Queen played as a 3 piece around New York for a few months and then moved to England to find a bass player and 2nd guitarist. Justin was discovered by putting an advert in the window of a Threshers wine shop in Balam, beating the other 2 applicants with his stunning rendition of wipeout by The Surfaris.
Drill Queen then returned to New York for another Sharpton fund raiser. At this point, the band still didn't have a bass guitarist - a position that was filled when Ray met Rod. At the time, Rod was being given a warning by a cop due to the graphic nature of his home made " F*ck Berlusconi " t-shirt.
Drill Queen are back in England to promote their double A side "This Is What We Look Like/Born Depressed ." For the last 3 months singer V.Delila has been obliged to attend court in Miami, having witnessed a robbery taking place in a Denny's opposite her brother's house. The trial is due to resume soon. Consequently, their time here may be cut short - Get 'em while you can.
