About Me

THE BOTTOMS are a project of longtime music industry veteran Andy Hindman, who’s been on the road tuning and fixing smashed guitars since the Indie rock heyday of the early 1990’s. His touring resume includes Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana; Punk icons The New York Dolls; Pop-Tart trainwreck Britney Spears (seriously). Mostly he resides in the Goo Goo Dolls camp. Since 1999 Andy has been working as Bass player Robby Takac’s Guitar Tech ............................................................ ........................... In 2002 Andy released a series of self-produced/played/& written E.P’s called aptly enough 387 sessions Vol. 1, 2 & 3, modeled after Pete Townshends Scoop series. Essentially Pete’s demos of what would later become Who songs ............................................................ ........ Kick started in the Summer of 2002 when Andy, armed only with his acoustic guitar and a handful of CD’s burned earlier that morning on his laptop, played 20 shows all across the country as the second stage/opening act for the Goo Goo Dolls summer amphitheater tour ............................................................ ............................................... Coming home from that tour in the fall of 2003, Andy got together three Columbus music vets; Lead Guitar, Aaron Pauley (Unit 1 & Emperors of Bad Luck), Drums, C. Douglass Wells (X-Rated Cowboys), and on Bass Rob Dougherty (Dead Flower Bloom). With over 30 songs already recorded and demoed, the band were able to nit-pick the best of the bunch and get up and running quickly. Heading into the studio after only a month together, THE BOTTOMS first CD was released in the spring of 2004. THE BOTTOMS went to the studio again in the summer of 2005 but Andy’s hectic touring schedule has delayed the official release of their second album until the end of ’06. Available on iTunes and CDBaby since July of ’06, THE BOTTOMS finally have a few shows scheduled to celebrate the “official” release of THE BOTTOMS’ Second Album ............................................................ ................................................... While Andy’s on the road, the rest of THE BOTTOMS keep busy with their respective bands. When tour breaks happen THE BOTTOMS make the most of the time, playing as much as possible and always working towards the next recording project.
