Nocturnal Silence began late February, 2006.
The band consisted then of 3 band members; James Robinson on vocals, Fernando Guzman on drums and Jose Gutierrez(SMD) on lead guitar.
Our genre at the time was pretty much thrash metal (with black metal and punk influences as well) until later on in the project.
Around the time of making our 3rd song, we found our other guitarist Chris Crane. Months after finding another piece to Nocturnal Silence,
Jose decided to leave the band to concentrate on his main band, Six Million Dead. Therefore, Chris stepped up to take the role as our lead guitarist which started taking the band's genre to a more melodic black/death metal style with hardcore influences.
As you can see we are an experimental metal band with a very open mind, with a lot of genre's mixed in, be it black, death, thrash metal, hardcore, punk, etc. We also attract so many different types of crowds under one roof which is what we were aiming for.
We had many line up changes to experiment with our sound, including bassists, 2nd vocalists, and other guitarists only to become just us 3 again.
After all these changes we came up with 10 songs and decided to record our album. Taking into account that we all pitched in money and even did some donation shows. Finally on October 7th, 2006, we started recording our album at Livinghead studios. During the recording process, Jose decided to re-join NS as our session bassist for the band, helping out with all the bass tracks on the album.
Our main purpose is to keep it original and authentic with pure, brutal metal.
We feel that the things we have accomplished in less than a year is what usually takes other bands a lot longer to do.
Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice.
It is not a thing to wait upon, it is a thing to be acheived now.
We've had our troubled times but we manage to always stay true to our ourselves, and our music and we feel ready to take on the world.
