Top 3? Okay... Shawshank Redemption, It's a Wonderful Life, and lately...Crash
THE FOUNTAINHEAD (by Ayn Rand), The New York Trilogy: City of Glass (Paul Auster), The SHEDnedd Hypothesis (Ryan Brown), Life of Pi (Yann Martel), The Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini) are all recent reads that I'm willing to ad to my "favorites" list. The Fountainhead is highly recommended for artists or those who consider themselves altruists. The Kite Runner is recommended for those who are ignorant of life in the middle east. Life of Pi, is great for a new take on all religions and their relationships to one another. The SHEDnedd Hypothesis is by your's truly and addresses society's detachment from the real world in which we live.
There are many great men and women throughout history I would consider heroes. Far too many to name here. I have no one person I model my actions after or aspire to imitate. The common theme I find in my heroes are those who overcame and sacrificed something to live their ideals of truth, love, benevolence, or justice.
