Dance, taketina, drumming and rhythm, art, love. These are some of the things that allow me to glimpse the core of what it is to be completely alive. I believe I am here to live fully and gloriously and to bring as many people along with me as possible.

Hey, who else does Pam know?
I sing to my babies all day. They may sing before they talk. They also appreciate drumming, and grin ear-to-ear when I am groovy. When I go too far out on an improvisational limb and "lose it", they stop smiling. It's amazing. Tiny musical geniuses.
Movies I would watch over and over: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pecker, Donnie Darko, Orgazmo, High Fidelity, The Aristocrats, Secretary, Lost in Translation, Garden State, The Princess Bride, American Beauty and American Pie both, The Big Lebowski, Shaun of the Dead, Clerks, Hero, Office Space, Holy Grail and Life of Brian, Say Anything, Sideways, But I'm A CheerleaderMovies I should have liked but didn't:
Napoleon Dynamite. Anyone who can explain to me why this was a good movie, please do. I kept waiting for it to get good. I just didn't get it.
Coffee and Cigarettes. I really wanted to like this movie. Instead, I wish I could get that night of my life back.
Triplets of Belleville. I have taken a lot of shit for this one. I was forced to watch this movie a second time in case I was just cranky the first time I saw it. This movie got 93% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. I don't know what is wrong with me, but I just didn't like it.Of course, now I don't get to go to the movies anymore. Boohoo.
Currently in my Tivo Season Pass Manager:So You Think You Can Dance, America's Got Talent, Design Star, Entourage, Big Love, The Daily Show, Dancing with the Stars, Project Runway, Lost, America's Next Top Model, Battlestar Galactica, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes.
Feel free to delete me from your friends list now. (But first read my blog entry on TV shame).
Shows that are over, but were fabulous: Six Feet Under, West Wing, Buffy/Angel, Firefly, Queer As Folk, Gilmore Girls. If you have not watched these, you should. Especially Firefly. No, wait, especially Six Feet Under. No, Firefly...
I like junk for my brain--lots of fantasy and a bit of sf.
Diana Gabaldon: If you haven't read Outlander, run don't walk. Delicious time travel historical romance.
Guy Gavriel Kay: Start with Tigana or Fionavar Tapestry. Beautiful writer. Can reliably make me cry and really feel.
Jacqueline Carey: I wish I could world-build like this woman. Holy crap. The only novelist I have read recently who truly makes me feel humble as a writer.
MZB: Of course I loved Mists of Avalon. Of course. (And generally, revisionist legend rocks - Diana Paxon, Morgan LLewelyn, Gregory Maguire, etc.)
Terry Goodkind: He likes to write a good torture scene, this one, and he likes to preach politics in the later books, but if you like to live in a world for a while and hang out with the characters (a la Robert Jordan), he's worth a read.
Jennifer Weiner: Picked up "Good in Bed" at the airport when I ran out of reading materials and laughed out loud all the way home. It's a quick and clever read with a plus-size heroine. I wish I had written it.
Orson Scott Card: He can get repetitive, but I find the Shadow series to be a welcome return to form. (Form being Ender's Game, of course, which you should read if you haven't yet.)
Laurell K Hamilton: Glorified porn with vampires. Can I have a hell yeah?
Currently reading: "Kushiel's Justice" and "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child".
I'm also writing two books... both about magic.
