Here are some of our shots from Guilfest, thanks Tiff!!!
Whether they're playing gigs in London and Manchester, recording their debut album, or having their weekly writing and rehearsing session, Dystar are a band dedicated to what they do. They are a hard rockin' power pop foursome from south London in pursuit of great things.
Dystar have countless local gigs under there belts, so much so they now even have there own monthly night at the Surrey live venue and club, Bar Med. This has allowed them to hone their skills as a great live act, playing extended sets to packed out venues (including a support gig of pop-world No.1 Bashphelt).
Dystar's mix of raw rock with contemporary pop allows them to subdue the hardest head banger's and pop junkies. Their influences spread across a wide genre from Pink to Rage Against the Machine, Alanis Morosette to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nelly Furtardo and AC/DC . As a band, Dystar are open minded in their style of music but have a clear vision of their sound.
They have put together what they believe to be some of the best tracks they have ever written and are now in the final stages of pre-production. Soon to be released on an unsuspecting public is the 12 track album "Paid Actors". This dramatization of modern life, love and loss tells both sides of the eternal story. From their acoustically-themed track "Stop-Breathing" to the hard hitting first single "Drama Queen", Dystar show they have a sense of humor and a flare for the dramatic.
Dystar are a family, a tight unit of talented musicians who have shown through their hard work, that they will definitely be staying until the Final Act.
