i have many and varied interests the main one is music, listening and more importantly DJing. i play house right across the board, anything from vocal laid back stuff to bleepy techy edged house.
i normally reflect this in my sets, i could start of playing stuff by Glenn Underground but will mix through to stuff Tiefschwarz with some Switch thrown in the some where i the middle.
ive been mixing music since 1998 so about 8 years now. In 2000 i played out to a crowd for the first time, it was a dj competition in a bar not far from me, i never won but went back untill i did win. after that many and very varied opportunities opened up for me. ive played at most of the venues in Liverpool the highlight playing at a club called the Masque were i belted out some cool deep house.
To get my music fix when im not DJing im normally found out circus or chibuku, this is the best place for me to go to for the music i like, plus its full of my mates so its always a good nite.
Another interest of mine would be Formula 1, im a huge motorsport freak. been to the British Grand Prix 1999 and the Australian Grand Prix 2007, ive been the british touring car series aswell (oulton park only). im also a safety marshall for Liverpool Motor Club, they only hold 5 events a season now in clubman championships but its good fun, ive been doing it since i was 14 (so around 11 years).
My last (but not least) interest is computing, not only PC but also console gaming. i more or less live on computers, i work alday fixing them for my job then come home and either sit on my pc or play on my xbox360, ps2, PC or psp. its a pretty geeky life i suppose but i like it. My Xbox Live! gamertag is funkedup1981.
people, preferabley live ones.
im pretty open mined when it comes to music, my favourite music genre is house though. My favourite djs include:yousef, dj sneak, derrick carter, onionz, joeski, james zabelia, joey youngman, brett johnson, jt donaldson justin long and last but not least paul woolford
my favourite song is 'Barrio Brothers - hold on to your love' i absolutely love this tune,
unfortunately i knocked this tune back in 3beat records when it first was released. Im Kinda glad and gutted, glad cos it means i cant over play it so when i do hear it being played that time is special and very memorable but im gutted cos the tune is a classic and is very rarely played.
Thanks to Tenchy for reading my plea for this tune, he's managed to find me a copy of this great tune (i owe you one mate)
Ive got the other Barrio Brothers tunes which is just as good, in fact all onionz productions are excellent, he's the reason i play the music i do. him and the 6400crew helped me find a sound that i loved.
ill play anything from that drops in from the USA thats where my true deep edged sound is found and where the best produciotn are found. nothing better than a good piece of boompty bomp to wiggle to.
other styles of dance music i like are techno and drum'n'bass. techno wise i like carl cox, jeff mills and richie hawtin and drum'n'bass wise i like goldie, adam f, grooverider and andy c.
i like live music aswell these bands include The Editors, Oasis, Blur, Hard Fi, Kaiser Chiefs and Keane.
favourite listens at the moment are paul wooleys essential mix, goldies classic drum'n'bass arena and the editors
other that those i like anything from the 80s.
i love scarface this is without doubt my most favourite movie, i also like Ace Ventura 1+2, Made in America and Ferris Buellers Day Off. id watched most films though to be honest. im mainly into gritty british gangster movies and comedys.
just seen kidulthood and A Scanner Darkly, both ar highly recommended!
My top 2 choices here are Top Gear and Match of the day. why? cos i love cars and love football (mainy Liverpool FC - 2004/05 Champions of Europe) again like movies ill watch anything, telly is different though its gota interest me and not bore me like some programmes do
Robbie Fowlers autobiog is a good read but i was totally obsessed with Curtis Warrens autobiog, its a great read into the man himself
i dont look up to anybody, this is due to being tall.
