About Me

A few things about me....I like to spend my free time exploring the world in search of peace, solitude, spirit and adventure on multiple scales. I've lived in random places over the last few years: a stick hut (lean-to in Denali) on the beach (New Brighton, New Zealand) in an attic (Breckenridge) and spent the last few years in "the last best place" -the Missoula Valley of Montana. I make a conscious effort to find myself in the present and enjoy each moment, despite relentless space-time compression gripping society. I'm interested in common-pool resources and believe in mutual social and ecological benefits through the value of collective action. I think that we have never been modern. I like to lose myself in music. I like to find myself in the backcountry. I think the search for utility outweighs the search for truth...what good is truth? I fear we get so caught up in the dominant discourse, the grand narrative thats being told we forget who we really are and what we really want. I always try to keep on the sunny side, however, often my blues go walkin. I'm rich and poor, strong and weak. My intuition tells me the best order is chaos and simplicity is found in complexity. If I could be best friends with any animal (except Kaya, of course) it would be marmots, for every marmot I've encountered has had the most spectacular view from their front porch. I know that we don't know all to know, but I do know there are many different ways to know.
