I'M SURROUNDED BY ANIMALS IN THE SCENE WHO EAT THE FLESH OFF OF OTHER HUMAN BEINGS, KILLIN THERE OWN KIND.BACK STABBING ANYTIME THEY GET THE CHANCE, SO I WEAR ARMOUR PROTECT MYSELF WIV A SHIELD AND WAVE A LANCE.BIOGRAPHY: 2SHY MC2Shy’s musical journey into Hardcore & Jungle Drum & Bass all began way back in 1991/92 when he found out that one of his cousins managed a very popular UK pirate radio station called "ENERGY FM". This was his first encounter within the scene the enormity of it sunk in fast to the eyes & ears of the then naive 15/16 year old 2Shy. This gave him the hunger to get involved in the scene in any way shape or form as a; dj, mc, producer, promoter, etc... Coming from a varied musical background loving all forms of music and in his younger years particularly reggae & hip-hop etc… this gave 2Shy an insight into lyrical construction. Listening to the legends past & present such as the infamous Dennis Brown & Sugar Minot straight through to Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim & Public Enemy.Being brought up in the heart of South London 2Shy alongside some of his closest friends had the privilege of experiencing some of UK’s finest events in the late 80’s & early 90’s; A.W.O.L, Raindance, World-Dance, Fantasia, Obsession, ROAST & Jungle Fever too name a few. We all know the party never stops when the lights come on and the dj plays his last track… so naturally 2Shy & his mates would get together and host little after-party’s in each other’s houses. This got round locally & everyone wanted to be the DJ at these parties but 2Shy decided otherwise, going out raving week after week hearing the likes of: Moose, MC GQ & Fearless he chose to become an mc this really was the obvious passion for him. After a while friends & associates would compliment him on his style & manner. Still not completely convinced that he could do this to an audience is how his MC name came about. At a house party he friends made every attempt to get him on the mic but he just wasn’t having it so his mates took the lead and hailed him out on the mic ‘2Shy MC wanted at the decks ASAP’ the name stuck with from then on…1996 saw 2Shy get a slot on Pirate Radio with long-time friend DJ Stylie hitting the airwaves via the notorious Rude FM 104.3FM kick-starting with a late night slot 4am-6am which gained popularity with the ravers on their way back home or going onto more parties. Soon after the duo moved their slot onto Saturday mornings 10am-12pm & re-named the show ‘The Rude Awakening show’, this was the show that put 2Shy on the D’n’B map with promoters, producers & dj’s alike. Unfortunately the Rude FM Management had a split & 2Shy stayed loyal to the original management crew and moved with them over to the new frequency of 88.2FM. With the listeners staying true & loyal too Rude FM went to host events in around London & the South East touching down in Europe also with the ‘Rude in the Dam Tours’.MC’ing for Rude FM got him noticed within the D’n’B community, producers Dylan & Facs we’re the first to embrace his style with 2ShyMC soon becoming resident MC for Dylan & Fac’s earlier imprint’s; Biotic & XXX recs and started touring as resident MC with these labels throughout Europe & the UK.1999 2Shy teamed up within another long-time friend Producer/DJ Mechanism becoming a DJ/MC duo representing Emcee Recordings this helped him secure a residency at Fabric/Live which he still holds to this day! It was at Fabric/Live that he was approached by Clayton @ Renegade Hardware/TOV & the following weekend he was repping TOV/Renegade Hardware @ London’s Scala club. This association to date is one of 2Shy’s most recognized residencies working with TOV & Renegade Hardware. His voice is a signature sound at Hardware nights worldwide from 1999 to the current day working alongside: Loxy, DJ Ink, Calyx & Teebee & Vicious Circle, Gremlinz, etc…Moving on in 2003/2004 2Shy secured 2 further residencies in the UK & Europe getting back in with Dylan & Robyn for their infamous Therapy Sessions alongside joining the mighty Metalheadz crew for various UK & European events. Now due to his hard work and determination 2Shy has now toured throughout Europe & the UK working with some of the scene’s finest. For this he considers himself extremely fortunate to be in the position that he's in, performing to ravers world-wide, seeing different parts of the world, meeting different people from all walks of life & doing something that he loves!
