About Me

Pushbike Army are an energetic, 3 piece punk rock'n'roll band based in Leeds, England. On February 15th 2007, Steve Lamacq of BBC6 Music interviewed front man John Rennie live on air whilst awarding Pushbike Army's debut demo “Sleeping in the Ditch” demo of the week.
Energetic youthful indie guitar punk rock bite...something impressively good brewing up here (Organ Magazine)
The boys tread the line between indie and punk pop like a teenager trying to appear sober in front of their parents. The material is delivered with a conviction that would make Joe Strummer proud even if it’s veering more towards the indie side of things. An interesting debut by the band and label alike. (GIGWISE.com)
every now and then it is worth it to have a three piece, wearing their punk hearts on their sleeves. It is pure, raw, working class energy and a quick 1-2-3-4 for a Pushbike Army. Just think early Jam, XTC, Buzzcocks, bands at the beginning of punk who cared before they sold out and went off to write their rock opera legacies....Wake up Leeds, there is a political brain at work. Not just three lager louts looking for trouble after the footie. Bright Young Things needs a Pushbike Army. Even if just to remind everyone that music isn’t all just about middle-class college students discovering their own Karma. The music is tribal, basic, No Frills entertainment shooting directly at the Marks And Spencer’s generation (themusicguruonline.co.uk)
back to basics indie punk rock that will have you pogo-ing like your grandad at a sex pistols reunion....a catchy shouty chorus, and a radio friendly melody means that this bunch of upstarts could easily fill out their local den of trouble (ireallylovemusic.co.uk)
These three northern lads have the advantage of what many major bands don’t and that is the fresh faced passion to write music they want to write. Title Track “Four From Alexandra Grove” is a great up-beat indie track with a radio friendly, sing along chorus which is bound to get you bouncing. If you’re a fan of upbeat and honest indie music then get out your Pushbike and join the army! (http://www.roomthirteen.com)
