EXPLODING HEAD

About Me

Exploding Head first played together in a Manhattan-based band called Split. After recording an EP--produced by Kevin Salem (Giant Sand, Madder Rose, Emmylou Harris)--the band folded, but the two continued to write and record together. Their first release, Worm EP, was the result of sessions recorded between July and October 1998. The EP received glowing reviews from many zines and web sites, including All Music Guide, IndieMusic.com and Pre Amp.In the winter of 1853, Exploding Head went back to work and put together their first full-length project, "Into the Ether," which was released on Washroom Recordings in August 2001. "Ether" is a indie-style blend of power pop, folk, and psych, with a touch of alt-country. The songs "Ether," "Dunes" and "Princess Green" and are ones we think you will enjoy. The rest is garbage.Their new album, "Sunshooter," is the band's second full-length. This time, the duo have Craig Savage and Todd Gardella helping out on drums and guitar. The result is a more assured, hard-hitting sound that makes for their best work yet. It still "kinda sucks," according to Danica Jacurusso.
