About Me

Born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Miami-DC-VA. In Atlanta now. Loving it. I sing. I speak Spanish. Sing in it too. Me'ncanta bailar como una Cubana de verdad. Some French for the romantic types. I play cello. I don't smack on it like some gittar players do. I write for magazines. I love to dance. I love to sing some more. Can I get in the studio more? I interview other artists. I'll be interviewed one day too. Watch. Been to Spain twice to sing negro music, some R & B too. Sang in church, like a lot of us brown folk. That means I like to holler sometimes but I don't always. I want to sing back up for John Legend while I work on my own project. Maybe I will. I'll ask around, since I know some people. I had a long, educated bio before, but this short one was inspired by Anthony David. Thanks Tony!

Band Members: Vocals and Cello: ME!
Influences: Wow.. how does one write about their influences. I love old school and raw soul music. Live instrumentation is where it is for me. Thank God for midi, but live recordings are wonderful. I love Donna Summers, Billie Holiday, Roberta Flack, Nina Simone, Omara Portuondo, Joan Osborne, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Janice Joplin, Ann Murray, Carly Simon, Whitney Houston, etc.. In the men, I love Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Barry White, Ibrahim Ferrer, Cachao, Prince, Sam Cooke, etc.. Classically, Vivaldi, Chopin and Bach are my favorite composers. I listen a lot to "The Four Seasons" for my emotions. Anne Sophie Mutter is an incredible modern day arranger/composer/violinist who is awesome. Yo-Yo Ma on the cello. An inspiring performer for me. This list is too long and forever growing. I'll update occasionally :)
Sounds Like: Mi misma in English and Spanish--ME!
