In 2003 a group of young people set up a rock band named after the great Polish prose writer and graphic artist Bruno Schulz, who was killed by Nazis in 1942. Fascinated with the magic world envisioned in his artistic works, they found and contacted Marek Podstolski - Bruno Schulz´s great-nephew and the last surviving member of his family. After having listened to music created by the group, Mr Podstolski, who currently lives in Germany, permitted them to use this name.
Members of the Bruno Schulz are not only musicians. If you can´t find them on stage they are for sure in a painting or sculpture studio, as 3 of them study at the University of Art in Poland. Music and art created by The Bruno Schulz band embrace each other, telling the tale of a world seen with oversensitive eyes.
Bruno Schulz has recently joined Luna Music - one of the biggest independent Polish labels. Their debut album "Ekspresje Depresje Euforie" is to be released In March 2007. The first single announcing the release is song "Gdy Wiedna Kwiaty" with video clip by Remigiusz Wojaczek. In February the band is starting "Ekspresje Depresje Euforie concert tour".
