About Me

I wonder if Chevy will REALLY plant a tree?? Get this widget!
================================================ "Yo ho! All together!
Hoist the colors high!
Heave ho, thief and beggar --
Never shall we die!"

yeah... pirates geekery...
What's wrong with this?
===============================================
My name's Pam, I'm from Kansas. I'm sorta battling my way through college and sorting out life. Therein lies the joy of being a *duhn duhn DUHN* 20-something! Anyway, I love music, and singing, and animals and whatever else. I live in Omaha now, not sure how long I'll stay here, maaaaybe I'll go to California for bellydance, maaaaybe I'll go the Europe, maaaybe I'll go to the moon! My fledgling deviantART site -- I plan to be putting more time into it.
Visit my pets!
..
Etc: I'm a pretty nice person, I'll try to help anybody out, as long as you don't try to take advantage of the fact that I'm nice. I'm really fond of people who practice compassion -- not just for other humans, but animals too, and ALL animals. There is no fundamental difference between a cow, a frog, a chicken, or a dog, and if farmers did the same crap to dogs or cats that they do to "food animals," they'd all go to jail. "Don't swallow the lie. TryVeg.com "
"Now I can look at you in peace; I don't eat you anymore." Franz Kafka
If you want to try something new, go to Vegan Dream and get yourself some no-meat jerky. Speaking from the perspective of a kid who grew up in the country with an inate liking for jerky, I can tell you, having tried it now, that there is absolutely no difference whatsoever. It even beat out meat jerkies in the World's Best Jerky exhibition! word up. So go buy some!
My roadgnome really really REALLY likes cake.

***LATEST NEWS: Latest news reports from the Pamelot News Network (PNN) have announced that Pam is planning a move to Omaha, NE. "OMGz, i'm so sick of Kansas and loike i'm looking forward to school and finding new peoples 'n junk," Hardico. is reported to have said while tuning up her plastic sled. "And it might loike... actually snow there!" She hopes to invest in meatgrinder technology, bellydance/guitar classes, a multi-region DVD player, and new-fangled suction cups that will allow effortless scaling of buildings.

Artists Steve Skroce, as far as comics are concerned, Caravaggio, Francis Bacon, Hieronymous Bosch, Albrecht Durer, some Giger, Francois Boucher, Monet, VanGogh, Leonardo, Goya, Peter Paul Rubens, Guercino, Klimt, Shiele, and some others I can't think of right now.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody who wants to meet me, as long as you're not scary. And my friend Pete, who started me on the road for animals.

As far as myspace is concerned, I like meeting new people most of the time, even if they're absolutely nothing like me. Sometimes you find more in common with people who, on the surface, seem to be your polar opposite. Anyway, anyone on my friends list who I've not met yet, i'd like to meet them. ^_^

Rather than do a ton of scrolling, leave a message here. Thanks!
**It actually works now! ^_-**

Music:

This list has grown alot, thanks to some musically generous friends...

the greatest violinist ever!

(Don't be silly, please...)

(Pre-Long Road Nickelback, I should say.)

I'll add more later... looking up all those little pictures got to be a bit tedious =P I like "Classical" (all the stuff that's crammed under that one label), Cultural music like Celtic, Native American music, some Indian stuff, and of course Jazz (Passing Through by David "Fathead" Newman is great), and some other stuff

In a nutshell, I'll give anything a listen but I generally don't like rap, country, or poppy Britney Spears-type crap. I try to be open to new music, and I believe my somewhat "erratic" music taste describes me best.

Movies:

I like alot of horror movies, but lately it seems "horror" has degenerated into nothing more than random loud sounds to throw you off-guard before some poorly rendered "monster" jumps out of the shadows. =P Either that or a bunch of "naive" naked chicks being mutilated by some psychotic men, which is another theme I'm sick of.
Other movies I like are The Matrix, all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies OBVIOUSLY, 28 Days Later, The Sixth Sense, Saw, Ichi the Killer and Carnival of Souls, which are both recommendations from a friend,Wizard of Gore, for the sheer fact that it is so TREMENDOUSLY TERRIBLE, Signs, Unbreakable, The Little Mermaid (hehe), Fantasia, actually just about every Disney movie, Hidalgo, The Ring, The Crow, Akira, The Craft, Neverending Story, Nightmare Before Christmas, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Donnie Darko, Shawshank Redemption, Donnie Brasco, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill vol. 1 and 2, Misery, Vampire Hunter D, Kasshan: Robot Hunter, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Willard, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Tattoo, American Psycho, This Is Spinal Tap, Rashomon -- old but very interesting, The Machinist, Batman Begins, and a bunch of others...

Television:

.. I like... lesseee... cartoons, crime dramas, forensics shows, "paranormal" thingiemabobs... METALOCALYPSE, SpongeBob Squarepants, Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy, Robot Chicken, Cold Case Files, Law & Order (the original and Criminal Intent), Fairly Odd Parents, The Daily Show, Spaced (why don't they show it here in the states?!), Ghost Hunters, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Camp Lazlo, uh... some other stuff. (I know, I know, I'm like... 12 years old.)

Books:

Grendel by John Gardner
Many Waters by Madeleine L'Engle
Henderson the Rain King by Saul Bellow
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
Hey Nostradamus! by Douglas Coupland
the Dinotopia books (originals by James Gurney and the one spin-off I read)
Midnight Graffiti, a horror/suspense compilation
The Sun, He Dies by Jamake Highwater
And loads of others I can't think of right now. I've recently found a box of books I planned to read, so yeah... getting started. Currently on something called Landscape of Lies, about a painting that's not just a painting.I NEED MORE BOOKS. The library in town is having a ridiculously awesome book sale...

Heroes:

My mom, cause she's probably the gnarliest mom on earth.

Daniel Johns, Scooter Ward, and anybody else who's musically awesome.

The folks in the military. Even though I do not believe in the war, it doesn't mean that I don't believe ine them.

My Blog

^_^ Shimmy along ^_^

So after one session in the beginner's class, I'm on my way into intermediate. ^_^ Hooray! Progression makes me happy. I've had this goal in mind to dance in the next hafla, which I believe is in June...
