The Music Kidz production label was launched in 2002 by platinum selling urban music producer Mr Shabz. Music Kidz began primarily as a production house, home to several leading producers, including partner producer k1, who attained success in the late 90’s a duo with soul vocalist Sef (The Reelists).Over the years Music Kidz has quickly developed to become a one stop shop offering aspiring and established acts access to award winning production talent, A&R advice re securing major record label and distribution deals, alongside a database of highly renowned UK producers and re-mixers, and a management company looking after leading UK talent, including the highly respected and incredibly talented rapper Swiss. Music Kidz also provides acts with bespoke underground promotion services, including radio, press and street marketing activity tailored to the individual clients needs, enabling such acts to establish a presence and profile within the UK.The creative team at Music Kidz have also gained a strong reputation internationally, and are currently in negotiations with senior Def Jam executives based in New York. This came about following studio sessions with established US Def Jam artist rapper Memphis Bleek and meetings with Jay-Z’s cousin B High, during which a string of exciting projects were discussed and are currently being further developed. The Music Kidz have also worked closely with leading German producer Franz Plaza, owner of Home Studios, Hamburg.Having music production, label and management contacts globally has enabled Music Kidz to increase the awareness of talent on their roster, as well as establish a profile and presence in territories other then their native UK. With the up coming release of ‘One In A Million’, the hugely anticipated new album by Swiss, to be distributed via the Pickwick Group, many exciting new acts in development, and international projects already underway, 2007 is all set to be another big year for the Music Kidz.
