About Me

I was about 5 when I was bought my first Casio walkman, came with it was a pair of big orangey coloured earphones that was neatly packed with my Casio. They felt like ear muff's to my ear's, the warmth pressed against my skin, and the adjustable head band sat perfectly hidden in my big curly hair.
My love for tapes developed, the tape playing in the dual tape decks commenced...'Save the tape' say's one of my t-shirts O what a Classic!
I was alot more lively and wild back in the day, as I recall in my childhood years listening to anything & everything that I was surrounded by. I loved Indian films and action packed movies, not to mention Indiana Jones and Knight Rider 'My favourite'. I listened to alot of pop and disco, with a touch of soul thanks to my sister who used to play alot of Bobby Brown & Soul 2 Soul.
Born in Forest Gate raised in Stratford, I was cultured by my strong Indian Mauritian roots, origin from my parents. Having a great passion for the Island's Sega music, at the age of 10 I took part in dances for the Mauritian society. I formed a band with my best friend at the time, who infact turned out to be the better dancer & myself more passionate about music, showing early signs of rough draft writing, singing & humming melodies. I was probably 13 at the time.
I realised that times were alot different growing up, with alot of family stuff going on, finding it hard to concentrate on anything else but living life. Thankfully, I always did achieve at school and was very fond of learning. I took up music at school and by this time I started composing my melodies on a basic yamaha keyboard, to tapping a rhythm with some hand instruments such as camel skin drums. It was fun! I didn't focus much on the music after my school days as my attention was diverted to much more reality based situations and real life experiences most of us would go through in our life time hence the 'Life' track on my myspace page.
By that time, I realised that I was wasting my life away. I wanted to do something constructive, and not see my years passing me by like that. I always took an interest into the forever evolving UK music scene. 'Smiling' I can remember the times when I was heavily into drum & bass and would listen to Kool Fm with DJ Micky Finn, or Rinse FM with Wiley on set. Shout out to Blade Mc who inspired me to start rhyming God bless you & your son, Neeko, DJ Raphael / Family *Record Village* for hooking me up from back in the day* Garage was Big back then to, I remember sitting in my mates flat, on the sofa, highgrade on a council estate somewhere in NW London, hearing him mc is was just sick. Thats when I started writing rhymes, and more currently poetry or spoken word based on day to day everyday living.
I Fast Forward to the present & guess what im back involved with the music. Im finally working on 'DSEW' material as I type this. I am putting out my mixtape 'Beat Chop Vol.1' out next month? Ive been working with some extremely talented regular people that do this for survival and do this for the love and do this cos they can - Stay Blessed PEOPLE and keep doing you! It's all in the development plan at the moment and it will be live on my show very soon www.deepfrequency.com
