Writing, travel writing, acting, theatre, traveling, procrastinating, rockclimbing, snowboarding, tai chi, Buddhism, Taoism, meditation, Osho, yoga, hiking, running, trapeze, Japanese language, raw food, vegetarianism, red wine: the tasting of, the drinking of and the learning about; and violent, wall-shaking thunderstorms where all the lights go out.
I only add people I know and have actually met personally as friends unless someone is pretty damn interesting and it is really hard to impress me. So unless you're a globetrotting circus performer....you get the idea.
Pretty much anything but country. My favorite song is All Along the Watchtower. My favorite artist at present is Andrew Bird. I also like Dave Matthews Band, Guster, Maroon 5, Eminem, Miles Davis, Jimmy Eat World, Phish, Foo Fighters, AFI, The Fray, Ben Harper, The Postal Service, Imogen Heap, The Decemberists, Jack's Mannequin, Linkin Park, Black 47, Sigor Ros, Love Psychedelico, Portishead.....the list is endless.
I like movies with depth, and reality distortion. Think Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, 12 Monkeys. I also like Under the Tuscan Sun, and L.A. Confidential.
I'd rather live my own life than watch people on a screen live theirs. That said, I am a fan of Sex and the City reruns.
Anything by Chuck Palahniuk especially Survivor. Anything by Osho. The Artist's Way (gotta love the motivational books for culture shock days) and David Sedaris' "Me talk pretty one day." A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Kite Runner, Life of Pi. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. And most recently, tao te ching, a translation by Stephen Mitchell.
Don't have any. Be careful who you idolize--best to follow your own path.
