PORTUGUÊS/Formada em 2001, a banda DEVASSA surgiu com o objetivo de fazer um som com riffs pesados e passagens rápidas influenciado pelo HARDCORE nova iorquino, Trash, Punk e Rap. Com letras em português, o objetivo da banda é relatar a luta para sobreviver ao cotidiano caótico e desigualdade social vividos em São Paulo, assim como em outras muitas cidades do mundo. Localizada no extremo sul de São Paulo (Grajaú), onde as condições são precárias e a população é carente de atenção do Governo, resultado de uma polÃtica corrupta, despreparada, sem caráter, sem ética e Filha da Puta. Infelizmente motivada por esse cenário, o DEVASSA usa a música, essa situação e o ódio que ela proporciona como válvula de escape. Um grito que talvez poucos ouçam e compreendam, porém é a forma escolhida pela banda de mostrar sua indignação e manter uma postura diante de tal quadro. Ainda hoje a banda mantém a mesma formação e vem se apresentando no circuito underground de São Paulo, sem muitas pretensões, apenas informando e liberando o ódio acumulado no dia-a-dia. Sempre respeitando as diferenças, e a liberdade de expressão.ENGLISH/Formed in 2001, Devassa band was raised with the aim of make lyrics inspired in heavy riffs and slithly influency of the New York HARDCORE, Trash Punk and Rap. Singing in Portuguese our main target is to bring up to everyone, the day by day challenges used to survive in the chaotic routine and the social and unequal discrimination lived in São Paulo, as the same as lived in other many cities around world. Settled and located in poorest south area in São Paulo city better known as Grajaú, where the living condition are miserable and helpleesly, the inhabitants are forgotten by government attention, …..result of a corrupt, disqualified, honourless, with no ethic and respect politicians. Unfortunately motivated by this frustrated reality, the whole situation of hate grown in our lives, Devassa uses music to express our feelings ant thoughts. A shout that few can listen and understand the message in itself, however that is the chosen way to show our frustration and angry before this real life style. We have nowadays the same members (or formation) since we were founded and exhibiting our performance all around São Paulo’s underground circuit, with no many pretensions, only expressing and releasing the accumulated disease of our every day..s problem.
