Sex & the City. 30 rock. and lately, i've been watching "Ugly Betty" and i feel so guilty for liking it. My critisizim is not so much on the actual episodes, because i think that's right on the mark. rather, i am dismayed soley on the title of the show, which is the exact title the Spanish/Mexican version had "Yo soy Betty La Fea". I think the title should have changed because mexicans are not the 'minority' in Mexico as they are in the U.S., and this is a pertinent point because i feel that the title alone sends a message to the 'majority' that is not appropriate. Maybe i'm making too much out of so little, but i do feel guilty watching the show.

Feministas all over the world! The indigenous minds...The pyramids of the Aztec Empire were symbols of power and strength. Today, our pyramids seem like dust- invisable and conqured, but that is only what it seems. Our spirits can rise beyond any plateau or peak. The power of our ancient people cannot be calculated by time or height, but simply, through our relationships with our mother earth. Approach her with care- revere her, love her, cherish her. Bulid communities that always reach for the heavens, and there you will find true power and strength.
