HOOF TEASER. CLICK THIS LINK for a full frame versioin of this pilot teaser I co-wrote, co-produced, directed and edited for an upcoming television series entitled "HOOF." My writing/producing partner on this... and the host as well, is my good friend Timothy Prindle who also happens to be from my same home town. We had a great deal of fun on this and hope to do more.
OPEN TEASER. CLICK THIS LINK for a full frame versioin of a pilot teaser I wrote, produced, directed and edited for a Canadian producer.
LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.... or just DIE HARD 4. We just wrapped up on this on May 15th... I'm actually really looking forward to seeing the film. It looks like a lot of fun!!! And hey, that's our building blowing up at 01:50... check it out!
"NEXT" I did some visual effects work on this pic.... but what I really dig is that Nicolas cage plays Chris Johnson... and he can see the future. Well, I'm Chris Johnson, and I can see the future... do you suppose I'll get any royalties???
I made this on 11/14/06 for PhoenIX. (CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR FULL FRAME WINDOW)

Here's another 2 minute movie for someone who returned from out of town. Now, realize that these are basically equivalent to a "thumb-nail" sketch and I make them in about 2 hours including shooting and editing... so don't expect "Gone With the Wind" here. (CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR FULL FRAME WINDOW)

My Interests

Well, filmmaking is probably at the top of the list since I've been doing it in some form since the age of 8 and professionally since the age of 18. There's something about the way raw stock smells and an image through a viewfinder that transports me into a graceful state of peace.

So, besides the obvious, I'm also a musician and enjoy recording and playing/singing out. And I'd love to go skiing again sometime sooner rather than later.

Oh, and old cars are pretty cool too. Here's mine... and thanks for the shot, Dad.

MY IMDB LINK

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is working hard and taking risks.

Music:

Since this is a filmmaker profile, I'll list the composers of film scores that I enjoy: John Williams, John Debny, Thomas Newman, Randy Newman, Randy Edleman, Trevor Jones, Jerry Goldsmith, Howard Shore, James Horner, James Newton Howard and my own good friend and colleague, Robert Melnyk.

In addition to those talented musicians, I also dig Billy Joel, Elton John, Ben Folds, Daniel Powter... and truth be told, I've written a couple of tunes that I actually think are decent.

Here's a little tune that I wrote this year and just sat down and played. There's no production done here... just me in a room with a piano keyboard.

Movies:

To Kill a Mockingbird, The Day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds (1953), Village of the Damned (original), The Blob (original), The Thing (From Another World (original), Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Superman, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Flight of the Navigator, The Natural, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Chasing Amy, Manhunter, The Last of the Mohicans,

Drop Dead Fred,

A scene from Drop Dead Fred featuring some prosthetic make-up by yours truly.

Another scene featuring the "Velcro-Head" gag I did. I can't believe I was 17 when I did this stuff... seems like it was yesterday.

Heat, The Insider, Collateral, Field of Dreams, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile... and most of the James Bond movies. Guess that's enough for now.

Television:

Growing up it was: The Twilight Zone (reruns) Happy Days, Batman and Robin (reruns), Superman (reruns), The Incredible Hulk, The Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, Autoracer, The Greatest American Hero... When I got a little older it was: Cheers, Dark Shadows, Seinfeld, Beauty and the Beast, Freddy's Nightmares... Now it is more like: The West Wing, Smallville and sometimes the Ghost Wisperer, AMC, Turner Classics, The Food Network and the History Channel. Though believe it or not, I almost never actually watch television.

Books:

The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged, To Kill a Mockingbird, Charley, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Summer of Katya, Conversations with God, The Shining, The Alienist, The Angel of Darkness.
