About Me

Lyrics
Quick-witted, strong, silent, fiercly loyal, and tall enough not to be short. Beaten, broken, and brought back from the back of beyond, but still believes in Love, Still looks forward to rainstorms, backrubs, and empty highways. Still Believes in over-tipping, morning sex, the virtues of self-awareness, and defending his friends to the bone. A semi-enlightened spirited soul, who plans to one day ride off into the sunset, cruising on twin Harleys, with a love that'll shake the Pillars of Heaven. Currently impersonating someone with devilish charm and a future in writing. Seeks grace in everything he does. Does not currently own a Harley.***************************************************** ************************************************************ * Will, on occasion, settle for a good poker hand, a pint of guinness, and a little good conversation. ************************************************************ ******************************************************** I used to say that on very rare occasions I'd also settle for a bottle of Jaeger and a bucket, but these days I'm usually holding the bucket for a friend. I guess that's what happens when you get older.

My Interests

A dirty little red wine, The origins of words, and the impetus for urban myths. I think that the Russian language is incredibly sexy...and that German, although by no means a reflection of those that speak it, is very much not. People who defy expectations interest me; so does dining out, eating in...I'll try everythng and anything at least twice; hiking, dancing ((on a side note, Mbuki Mvuki is an African word that has no English translation meaning "to dance to the point of ecstasy")) ...I'm big on conquering fears, admittedly ive got a few left to tackle. I've come to realize that even though the blaze of excitement that comes with beginnings and endings is what society tends to remember, its hitting that spectacular comfort zone in between that truly matters; the little things in life, the sentimentality of it all...I can't remember what sex with her was like...but i can tell you the exact weight of her head on my chest, as we'd watch movies in bed. Forgiveness interests me, the people who ask for it and the people who give it... people with hidden strengths, and second winds....and like this, our lives go on...

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet someone who's ready for it. Someone who wants to be swept off her feet, and knows how to give it back in spades. Someone who's seen too many movies on how its supposed to be. Someone to remind me why I used to fall in love with the idea of falling in love. Maybe I want to meet you...and then possibly your mom.....or maybe I just want to meet your mom.Barring that, I'd like to meet someone who knows my profile quote, and might tell me why it means what in means to "have something in spades" ...because I sure don't. A beautiful girl to watch grindhouse with...and maybe get some icecream on the way home...that might do it too. ************************************************************ ******************************************************** I know what I won't do... I won't add you on myspace if all I get is a pretty picture and an invite...and I'd like to think that thats a reflection of my current position in real life too. Tell me a story, I've had enough with pretty pictures. Tell me how your going to save the world...

Music:

U2, Sinatra, Billy Joel, Lyrics Born, Pharoah Monch, Delerium, Gorillaz, De La Soul, Michael Franti, Tori Amos, Nina Simone, George Strait, and who am I kidding I love everything thats good, and yes I'd be lying if i were to say i didnt listen to some stuff that sucks pretty hard too. I'm an equal opportunist as long as it can move me...mind, body or soul.

Movies:

The Indiana Jones Trilogy, Big Trouble In Little China, Shakespeare In Love, True Lies, Last of The Mohicans, 13th Warrior, Coming To America, Lucky Number Sleven, American History X, Waking The Dead, Run Lola Run, V for Vendetta, Sin City...and anything that features zombies and/or Rose Mcgowan with a machine gun for a leg.

Television:

T.V rots your brain kid.

Books:

Lets be honest, these days if i'm reading anything at all it's either a wine book, or someones blog. However with that said, these are a few experiences that stand out in my memory: Ted Simon's Jupiter's Travels, Love in the time of Cholera, Poetry by Pablo Neruda, Sexual Perversity In Chicago and any other dialogue by Mamet, Wuthering Heights, Going Native by Steven Wright, The Stand, The Dragonlance Chronicles, Sun Tsu's The Art Of War, The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan, Neil Gaman Graphic Novels and Books...and most, but not all, of the stuff coming from Bill Shakespear.

Heroes:

Cool Hand Luke, because no man can eat 50 eggs...and Tommy Yang, because ...I think he'd actually try.

My Blog

Gaiman, Inxs, Frog Legs...and it all starts with a broken skull.

I've recently read Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman, it's good, a real quick read. It spoke of a world that was spun from webs of story and song. It told a tale of Gods fighting for propiety of these songs,...

The Napa Trip: Part II (The Wedding)

The Napa Trip: Part I (The Family)

So of all the places my little sister could have gotten hitched, they chose Napa Valley...bless their hearts. I'm back now, but I have to say that for a wine geek like me, it was like going to Mecca. ...
