Liberation

Liberation is the musical work of Khristian Rainford. July 2005 saw the birth of his creation, originally known as Electric Dreams, but had to be changed due to copyright laws. His influences range from a mixture of 80s Synthpop/Electronica/Electro/Industrial/EBM mainly with some other hints to.
Question - "Who were your favourite bands when you were growing up as a child?"
Khristian- "Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, the Beloved were some of the first bands I used to like. They got me into the Electronic/Synthpop scene and add them with bands that I hugely admire like Michael Cretu's Enigma or Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails..then theres a list of lots more like In Strict Confidence, Covenant, VNV Nation, SITD. If you add the mix, I think you'd get the happy medium of what I like making. But I like making the music I love and if anyone else likes it to, their welcome to join the ride."
Question - "What drives you to make music?"
Khristian - "Life, passion, hate, love, emotions, feelings, people, problems, the world. Problems with the world, war, fighting, peace. I think their the main issues. The world is in such a bad state. There are to many wrongs in the world, drugs, prostitution, corruption. From past experiences in life, especially injustices, I've been really angry at times. Writing songs inspires me to get it all out of my system, the stress as well as capturing the true feeling."
Question - "How did you decide the name?"
Khristian - "Originally I was going to call it Electric Dreams, but the name was already copyrighted so I chose Liberation. I chose it because of the main meaning, to set someone free. I don't use lyrics in my music and I want the music to reach people's minds, hearts, their subconscious and make them explore parts of their mind. I want it to set them free. Another reason I chose it is that it could be seen from the opposite way. The world has too many restrictions, problems, that in a way it could be irony. We don't live in a Democracy, the UK, the USA. They say we do, but really its a despotarian using the term as a cover up. Procrastinatory Politicans full of false promises, corruption, inhumane things. I think the world is getting more dangerous and less safe by the day. You can't be yourself without something having a grudge."
Question - "Okay..last question, if you could work with one person who would it be?"
Khristian- "I'd just be happy if one person likes my music, I just do what I like doing, expressing myself with music. I really want to make music that sounds different but also sounds as if its way ahead of its time. The second half...hmm I can't get it down to less than 2. Trent Reznor..he has done so much for Industrial, lyrically brilliant and Pretty Hate Machine is one of the albums that got me into doing the music I am now. Michael Cretu would be the other choice for his original moving music with Enigma, one of the best unique bands I've heard."
Khristian seems to have a lot of strong points of view over the world, political issues, life in general. His music really captures human emotions. Dark atmosphere, harsh Industrial beats mixed with catchy electronic sounds and some sensual sounds.
