Earconscious sounds from the grendelian mind

About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

Automatic Window Noise is powered by the mind of the Earconscious: Continually searching for that something different and unique, a new source of inspiration.Grew up aware of the sounds of 1983 a year of boom boxes, break dancing, Mtv, d.j.'s, when the ears heard "scorpio" & "let the music play".In the airwaves of Fayettevile, Durham, Raleigh, & Chapel Hill. Influenced by college pop, U2, Grand Master Flash, Todd Rundgren, Loverboy, Zebra, Producers, Rick Springfield, Yes, Scorpians, Ratt, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, R.E.M., Kurtis Blow, Mantronix, Prince, & Cybotron.Always been buying vinyl/new music. Became a d.j. through default. People invited to parties through wanting to hear the latest thing. Inevitably leading to buying turntables, gear, etc.Started D.J.ing on the radio in 91 @ WNCW with Arc overnight. Arc overnight held a party at the Park Elevator where 'G' was "discovered" and asked to host a weekly event. That lasted until the club closed in 94. From 93-96 Greensboro had the rave scene with Ed Labrun throwing parties at the Depot (FRED freaking Gianneli) and Babylon (Richie Plastikman Hawtin) Those two shows led to Detroit where Rich and John Acquaviva shared knowledge of the classic Detroit producers. Always more of an ambient style blender until Rolando of U.R. showed a path following the hand claps (Thanks Ro).Lee Lalli put something together @ the Zen Den in 98 for Deze Nuttz. This was the first performance of Automatic Window Noise involving multiple screens, t.v.'s turntables, synthesizers and a backing band. After this did some shows in Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Charlotte with Blue Collar D.J. Brett Hillyer. Thanks to Mr. Lalli A.W.N. would make a return in 2006 for the 1st installment of Launchpad. Hats off to Mr. Lalli for inspiring a dusting off of the projectors and analog gear!produced shows, performed and d.j.'d with Jeff Samuel, Ulysses, Magas, DJ Unknown, Perspects, John Acquaviva, Matthew Dear, Derek Plaslaiko, Detroit Grand Pubas/Heckle and Jeckle, Larry Tee, Greensect, Stereolab, S4, Electric Bird Noise, Laburnum, as well as Icey and Baby Anne;). The following projects have involved some form of live performance; Automatic Window Noise, Die Elektro Kartell, G's Cycle Utopie, LUCID DREAMERS, Queso Fundido, Laburnum, & Greensect. Also notable is a series of shows at the Moon Room until Tutto Mondo opened in 98 as the original d.j./booking agent. Since 2004 been holding a bi-weekly with James Thomason. Minimal-groovy-hi-tek-funk-madness. Thanks to Tom Poston, John Love, Lee Lalli soon more tracks will be forthcoming to the public.
